JESUS IS GOOD, GOD IS GOOD, JESUS IS GOD

Thursday, November 17, 2016 JESUS IS GOOD

GOD IS GOOD JESUS IS GOD Today I will answer the Muslim ARGUMENT that God Alone is Good. Islamic preachers in various religious debates have been in the habit of using verses 18–19 found in Luke Chapter 18, which state that God Alone is Good. Muslims claim that in this verse, Jesus denied being "GOOD" and stated that God alone is Good; thus, Jesus's denial of being Good contradicts the Christian claim that Jesus is God.

Therefore, you will see that these Islamic preachers teach the public using both the Quran and the Bible, asserting that Jesus denied being GOOD. They spread this teaching that "GOD ALONE IS GOOD" through various platforms such as radio, pamphlets, public debates, books, and video/audio cassettes. This has caused some Christians to abandon their faith and convert to Islam, while others—though they have not changed their religion—have come to believe this claim. The crucial question every Christian must ask is: Did Jesus truly deny being GOOD? I urge you to follow this lesson carefully to understand the truth behind this verse:

Luke 18:18–19: "A certain ruler asked him, 'Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?' 'Why do you call me good?' Jesus answered. 'No one is good—except God alone.'"

If you quickly look at how these Islamic preachers present this Bible verse, you might be persuaded to believe their teaching. However, it is essential to examine Jesus's response in depth—that "God Alone is Good"—and see whether there is any truth to their claim that Jesus refused to be called Good, thereby proving he is not God.

Let us begin our analysis.

In the verse above, did Jesus provide an answer or ask a question? Here we see the scripture clearly shows that Jesus asked a question rather than denying that he is Good.

Quote: Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good?" Here, Jesus asked a question to the man who called him "GOOD TEACHER," rather than denying that he is "GOOD," as Islamic preachers claim in their public debates.

After the man failed to explain why he called Jesus "Good Teacher," Jesus stated:

"No one is good—except God alone." When Jesus spoke these words, did he deny being God?

MUSLIMS AGREE THAT ONLY GOD IS GOOD.

Is there any place in the Bible where Jesus calls himself Good? Let us read Jesus in the Gospel of John 10:14.

Jesus says the following:

"I am the GOOD shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me."

IN JOHN, JESUS CALLS HIMSELF GOOD.

Therefore, based on the Muslims' own acceptance that "GOD ALONE IS GOOD" and Jesus calling himself Good in John 10:14, Jesus has answered the Islamic preachers today: he is Good, and this attribute of being Good affirms that he is God, in accordance with Luke 18:18–19 ("God Alone is Good").

It is my hope that today you have understood the deeper meaning of "God Alone is Good," and that when Jesus spoke those words, he was revealing to the young man that he is indeed God—meaning the young man was not wrong to call him GOOD TEACHER.

Now, where is the verse where Allah says he is Good?
