SO, ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF COERCION

What does Islam teach about coercion in religion?

Dear reader,

Muslims have been told to fight against the Unbelievers or kill them or accept joining Muhammad's religion. Islam does not allow believers of other faiths or religions to worship freely. That's why in Arab countries like Arabia in Mecca, there are no churches. Allah does not like freedom of worship.

Surah At-Tawbah 29. *Fight against those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day*, and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful, and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.

Surah Al-Anfal 38. Tell those who have disbelieved [that] if they cease, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for them. But if they return [to hostility] - then the precedent of the former [rebellious] peoples has already taken place.

39. And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah. And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do.

Surah At-Tawbah 5. And when the sacred months have passed, then *kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush.* But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Surah Al-Baqarah 193. And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah. And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do.

Surah Al Imran 84. Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him.

MUHAMMAD USED THE SWORD TO SPREAD ISLAM:

Muhammad's peaceful efforts to spread Islam failed miserably. For 13 years, Muhammad had only 100 followers, most of whom were his relatives. After failing badly to spread Islam peacefully, Muhammad changed his strategy and revealed these above verses to coerce people to join his religion, or else they would face severe consequences, even death. He told his followers that Allah commanded him to compel people to join his religion of Islam.

In his later years, before his death, Muhammad no longer cared whether people joined or not, but he forced everyone to join Islam by threatening death. This included his greatest enemy, Abu Sufyan, and his wife Hind. According to Islamic history, Abu Sufyan went to Muhammad seeking peace after Muhammad's intense hatred, but Muhammad forced him to join Islam, threatening to kill him otherwise. The exact words Muhammad told him were, "Submit and bear witness that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger or refuse and you will have your head cut off." Read the Testimony in Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 814. So Abu Sufyan agreed.

MUHAMMAD INVADED MECCA WITH THE SWORD:

The entire city of Mecca betrayed the command, when Muhammad invaded with his group. Many refused but were forced to convert to Islam, and those who refused were beheaded by Muhammad himself.

Others were expelled from Mecca after the last pilgrimage. Read Quran 9:5. Christians and Jews who were in Arabia at that time also faced this ordeal of Muhammad forcing them to join Islam or be killed. Many were given only one choice: to join Islam or be expelled from their lands. Read Sahih Muslim 19:4366.

Before he died, Muhammad sent his armies to force the Arab Pagans to join him, the tribe of al-Harith. He told them they had only one choice to join him or he would kill them all with the sword. But that pagan tribe was afraid and joined him. Later Muhammad cursed all Christians and Jews. Read Sahih Bukhari 8:427.

According to al-Shafi: "The Ordinances of the Quran", Muhammad forced people to join him or he killed those who refused. Read Bukhari 53:386.

Furthermore, Abu Bakr, who took over after Muhammad, conducted even worse Jihad in neighboring countries against those who refused Islam. In a letter sent to the Persians, Abu Bakr said, "Submit and become Muslims, then you will be safe, but if you refuse then know that I have come to you with an army of men that love death just as you love life."

These attributes of Muhammad are now seen in groups like Boko Haram, Al-Qaeda, Al-Shabaab. Evidence of this culture also exists in ISIS, who have killed millions in Syria. Even in Africa, in Nigeria, Boko Haram has been at the forefront of implementing Muhammad's order to kill Christians. Their Muslim followers believe that doing so fulfills Allah's wishes and they will be rewarded in the Hereafter. Bukhari 52:254.

Muhammad also forced Jews to pay JIZYA. Allegedly, because they refused to join his religion. This was a method of hurting and tormenting the Jews, so they would join Islam, Muhammad's religion. Bukhari and Ahmad (5114 or 4869, depending on the Tafsir).

One thing you must understand is that, in Islam, actions are more important than belief in Allah. Even today, if you go to countries with a majority of Muslims, they do not like the presence of other beliefs or religions. For example, Saudi Arabia, Zanzibar, Somalia, etc.

Finally, Abu Sufyan's son, Muawiyah, succeeded in defeating and killing Muhammad's foster son, Ali. He also poisoned Hassan, one of Muhammad's beloved grandsons. Abu Sufyan's grandson named Yazid became Caliph and he was the leader of Muhammad's grandson, Hussein.

This is Islam and how it forces people to join it, unlike Christianity, which does not force people, but teaches about Jesus. In Christianity, there is no coercion as in the Islam of Muhammad.

4. Why are there no Prophets in Christianity who use Swords and Knives to force people to join Christianity as in Islam?

5. Why in Christianity, their God does not have such great hatred as the Allah of Islam?

Today we have learned that in Islam, there is coercion unlike in Christianity. Furthermore, Allah is not the Jehovah God of the Bible, because their actions are completely different. Therefore, it is not wrong to say that Adam, Abraham, David, Jesus, and the prophets in the Bible were not Muslims and did not worship Allah
