Malaysia: Muslim convert wins battle with authorities to become a Christian again after 33 years

Roneey Rebit has finally won a hard fought legal battle to become a Christian again in Malaysia. After 33 years as a Muslim, he has finally been given the green light by the High Court to return to the faith he was born into.

The 41-year was only eight years old when his Christian parents embraced Islam. As a minor, he was forced to follow the religion of his guardians. He has been battling the authorities as an adult to have his classification as a Muslim removed from his government-issued identity card.

He also sought to revert to his former name from his Muslim name Azmi Azam Shah. In Malaysia, it is the norm to adopt new names when converting to the religion. Identity cards also state the religion of the citizens.

“Simon Haq, our evangelist, accepted an invitation from a local pastor to speak at a pastor’s conference and feeding event in the state of Assam in the Northeast. When he arrived he handed the pastor money to help pay for the event. To his surprise the pastor said, ‘You do not understand, we are paying for everything including your expenses.’ The pastors were blessed and by the time the feeding ended over 800 people had prayed to receive Christ, but that is not the end of the story.

When Simon returned to Delhi a pastor from Kunduli, Orissa called and pleaded with him to come to his village. Because the churches in Assam were led by the Holy Spirit to pay for their event Simon was able to accept the invitation to go to Orissa (one of the most Hindu-dominated and poor states in India) and do a second evangelistic feeding event in January.   What started out as a one-day event ended up being a three-day evangelistic feeding event. Below is a picture of approximately 2,000 people raising their hands as they prayed to accept Jesus as God’s Son and their Savior.

In an audio file posted on a Christian satellite TV channel, prince Abdullah al-Sabah declared his faith in Jesus Christ. Muslims have attacked him saying “he isn’t a member of the royal family”

According to reports, a Kuwaiti royal prince has become a follower of Jesus Christ. In an audio file posted with his name, he affirms that if he is killed because of a recording he made where he talks about his conversion, he firmly believes that he will meet Jesus Christ face-to-face. The news comes from Middle Eastern sources which state that al-Haqiqa – a Christian satellite TV channel in Arabic that transmits Christian religious programmes – broadcast an audio file attributed to the Kuwaiti prince, identified as Abdullah al-Sabah. The al-Sabahs are the royal family of Kuwait, a country rich in oil. The name Abdullah (servant of God) frequently appears in the Emir’s family tree.

In his audio file, Abdullah declared: “First of all, I fully agree with the distribution of this audio file and I now declare that if they kill me because of it, then I will appear before Jesus Christ and be with him for all eternity.” In this statement, the prince demonstrates his awareness of the fate in store for a martyr of the faith, according to Christian doctrine. The television channel stated that Abdullah is a member of the royal family, and that he recently renounced his faith in Islam and became a Christian, without specifying which particular branch of Christianity he had chosen. After stating his full name, the prince declared: “I will accept whatever they do to me, because the truth in the Bible has guided me towards the right path.”

In the audio file, Abdullah talks about the Islamic groups that are winning the elections in Egypt and declares: “Islamic communities have always wanted to attack in different parts of the world but God has preserved the world and still protects it. This is why we have recently seen disagreements appearing among Islamic groups who are now fighting with each other. They are about to divide further into different groups.”

Mohabat News, a Christian Iranian website which has been following the fate of Christian minorities in the Middle East closely and which has monitored Abdullah’s statement, confirms that this news was published briefly by Arabic news agencies and also by the Iranian state news agency. Some independent websites with Shiite leanings denied the reports and quoted another Kuwaiti prince, Azbi al-Sabah, who said: “There’s no one by that name in the Kuwaiti royal family.” In actual fact, the name Abdullah does not appear on the list of the 15 members of the royal family who rule this small, extremely wealthy country in different capacities: from the Sheikh down to Princess Nijirah al-Sabah, who testified in the US Congress under the assumed name of “Nurse Nayirah” on the humanitarian situation in the country after the invasion by Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and just before the Gulf War. That isn’t to say that this high-profile convert is not hidden somewhere within the extended family, under a different name.

Muhammad said: “Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him” (Bukhari 9.84.57). The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law according to all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence. This is still the position of all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence, both Sunni and Shi’ite. Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the most renowned and prominent Muslim cleric in the world, has stated: “The Muslim jurists are unanimous that apostates must be punished, yet they differ as to determining the kind of punishment to be inflicted upon them. The majority of them, including the four main schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi`i, and Hanbali) as well as the other four schools of jurisprudence (the four Shiite schools of Az-Zaidiyyah, Al-Ithna-`ashriyyah, Al-Ja`fariyyah, and Az-Zaheriyyah) agree that apostates must be executed.” There is only disagreement over whether the law applies only to men, or to women also – some authorities hold that apostate women should not be killed, but only imprisoned in their houses until death.

Pambo la mwanamke linajumlisha sehemu zake za kimaumbile kama uso, nywele na sehemu nyingine za kuvutia za mwili wake na nyongeza za uzuri wa bandia kama nguo, vito vya thamani, vipodozi na mfano wake. Haifai kwa mwanamke yeyote Muislamu kutoka nyumbani kwake akiwa amejipaka vipodozi au manukato.

Mtume (s.a.w.w) amewataka Wanawake wazikirimu nywele zao kwa kuzitazama vyema, kuzipata mafuta na hata kuzitia henna na katm (mmea kutoka Yemen). Inafahamika kuwa mafuta, henna na katm zinabadilisha umbile la nywele, kwani zote hizo zina kemikali. Dawa za nywele zinaweza kutumiwa ikiwa zitabaki katika misingi ya Uislamu, miongoni mwayo ni: -

Na Mtume (s.a.w.w.) amesema: “Haifai kudhuru wala kulipana madhara” (Ibn Maajah na ad-Daaraqutniy).

Ikiwa zitamlazimu kutotia maji kichwani, hivyo hutaweza kutawadha wala kuoga na Swalah zitakuwa ni zenye kukupita au kupoteza mda mwingi kuwa katika saloon ili kutiwa hizo dawa badala ya kutekeleza mambo muhimu. Pia jambo hili litakufanya kutoweza kutekeleza haki zako kama mke kwa mume ambayo ni ‘Ibadah na thawabu kubwa.

Na ifahamike kuwa mambo ya mapambo ya nywele ambayo yamekatazwa kabisa na sheria ya Kiislamu. Mfano wake ni kukata au kukatwa nyusi kwani katika hili Mtume (s.a.w.w) amemlaani mwenye kukata na mwenye kukatwa.

Na pia Uislamu umekataza mtu kuvaa wigi au kuongeza vipande vya nywele ikiwa ni za kwake au za mtu mwingine au ni za bandia. Mtume (s.a.w.w.) amewalaani wanawake wenye kazi ya kuunganisha (kutia) watu wigi (au vipande vya nywele) na wanawake wenye kuungiwa hizo nywele.

((Mwanamke wa Ki-Ansari aliyemuozesha binti yake ambaye nywele zake zilianza kung'ooka. Mwanamke huyo wa Ki-Ansari alikuja kwa Mtume (s.a.w.w.) na kumtajia kwamba: "Mumewe (mume wa mwanangu) ameona kwamba nimwachie avae nywele za bandia" Mtume (s.a.w.w.) akasema, "Usifanye hivyo kwani Allah Huteremsha laana Yake kwa wanawake kama hao wanaoongeza nywele za bandia")) Al-Bukhariy 7:133 kutoka kwa Bibi 'Aisha (r.a.)
Kwa hiyo ieleweke kuwa mambo haya yakifanywa na wanaume uovu unakuwa mkubwa zaidi na ni madhambi makubwa.

Allah anamwaga baraka kwa Wanaume wa Kiislam, lakini hakuna hata sehemu moja kwenye Quran ambayo Allah ametoa ahadi kwa Wanawake.

Wanawake wa Kiislam, karibuni katika Ukristo ambako hakuna ubaguzi wa Mungu katika jinsia kama ambavyo Allah anaonyesha katika Quran yake.

“(MWILI WA) MWANAMKE NI UCHI, AKITOKA (NJE, BASI) SHETANI HUMKALIA MBELE YAKE, NA ANAKUWA KARIBU SANA NA (RADHI ZA) MWENYEZI MUNGU KILA ANAPOKUWA NYUMBANI KWAKE.”

Mtume (Swalla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam) amesema:-

“MWANAMKE YEYOTE YULE AKIINGIA MSALANI (CHOONI) BILA YA SABABU (MUHIMU) WALA UGONJWA (LAKINI KWA AJILI YA) KUJITAZAMA WEUPE (WA PAMBO) LA USO WAKE, BASI MWENYEZI MUNGU ATAUFANYA USO WAKE KUWA MWEUSI SIKU (YA KIYAMA, AMBAYO SIKU HIYO NYUSO ZA WAISLAM) ZITAKAPOFANYWA KUWA NYEUPE.”

Mtume (Swalla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam) amesema:-

“AKIMWITA MMOJA WENU MKEWE KITANDANI KWAKE (KUMUINGILIA), BASI AKIKATAA MKE KWENDA (KUTIMIZA HAJA YA MUMEWE), (BASI YULE MKE) ANALAANIWA NA MALAIKA MPAKA ASUBUHI.”

((Allah Amemlaani mwanamke anayefanya tatoo (chanjo za kujichora), na mwenye kuomba kufanyiwa, anaye paka hina, na anayetoa nyusi na mwenye kuomba kutolewa na anayechonga meno kuweka nafasi (mwanya), kubadilisha maumbile ya Allah kwa ajili ya kupata uzuri )) Al-Bukhaariy Imetoka kwa 'Abdullah Ibn Mas'uud (Radhiya Allaahu 'anhu) (BUKHARI ,HADITH NA.408 ,JUZUU YA 6)

Mtume (Swalla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam) amesema:-

“MWANAMKE YEYOTE YULE KAJIPAKA MAFUTA MAZURI AKAPITA KARIBU NA WATU WAKAPATA (WALE WATU) KUNUSA HARUFU YAKEBASI YEYE MWANAMKE KAZINI.”

Vile vile Mtume (Swalla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam) amesema:-

“MWANAMKE AKIJIPAKA MAFUTA MAZURI BASI AKAPITA MAJLIS, BASI YEYE KAZINI.”

Na akasema Mtume (Swalla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam):-

“MWANAMKE YEYOTE YULE KAJIPAKA MAFUTA MAZURI KWA AJILI YA (KWENDA) MSIKITINI (BASI) HAIKUBALI MWENYEZI MUNGU SALA YAKE MPAKA (KWANZA) AOGE UOGAJI WA JANABA.”

POLENI SANA WANAWAKE WA KIISLAM.

Mfikirie Nabii Asiyekuwa na Dhambi

Tofauti na Muhammad, kuna mmoja ambaye alisema kuwa ni nabii wa Mungu

alitimiza mamia ya unabii na maana zake
hakuwahi kusamehewa, kwa sababu hakuwa na dhambi inayohitaji kusamehewa

Hakuwahi kuua, wala kutishia maisha ya msafiri yeyote yule
Alikuwa na kiwango cha juu sana cha uadilifu (hakuruhusu ufanyaji tendo la ndoa kwa kutumia nguvu)
aliahidi kulipa adhabu ya dhambi zetu
aliteseka na kufa kwa ajili yako, na
hana kaburi, kwani alifufuka kutoka katika wafu.

Mtu huyu ni Yesu Kristo. Wakristo hawasemi kuhusu Yesu kuwa: "amani ya Mungu na iwe juu yake", Yesu ndiye mfalme wa amani; amani ya Mungu ipo juu yake. Lakini, tumaini langu ni kuwa utaweza kujua namna ya kuona kuwa amani na upendo vya Yesu vinaishi moyoni mwako.

Muhammad pamoja na watu wake waliteka nyara misafara ya wafanya biashara na wasafiri mbalimbali.

Bukhari juzuu ya 3 kitabu cha 37 sura ya 8 na.495 uk.280 inasema "wakati Allah alipomfanya mtume kuwa tajiri kutokanana na ushindi" 1/5 ya mateka ya vita iliwekwa katika hazina na Sahih Muslim juzuu ya 2 kitabu cha 5 sura ya 401 na.2348 uk.519 inasema familia ya Muhammad ilikuwa na hisa ndani yake.

Utekaji nyara wa mali za watu wa kwanza kufanywa na Waislam ulijulikana kama Nakha la Raid. Wakati wa mwezi wa kusimamisha vita kwa muda, wafuasi wake waliushambulia msafara kwa kuuvamia na kuua mtu mmoja, na kuwafanya watu waliosalia kuwa watumwa, na kuchukua nyara.

Muhammad mwenyewe aliongoza uvamizi wa pili pale Badr. Muhammad aliongeza utajiri wake kwa kuyashambulia makazi ya Wayahudi ya Khaibr. Yeye na wafuasi waliokuwa waaminifu kwake walijitwalia nyara na wake (Je Muhammad alihitaji mke mwingine?) wa Wayahudi wanaume 700-1000 wa kabila la Banu Quraiza waliowakata vichwa baada ya kujisalimisha.

Ndio maana nasema Shetani anawapenda sana Waislam.

Ili kuweza kufahamu chimbuko halisi la Uislam inafaa kuyafahamu mazingira ya Uarabuni kabla ya Uislam, mtu aliyeitwa Muhammad na historia ya mwanzo ya Uislam. Elimu kale (akiolojia), Kurani na Hadithi vina mengi ya kusimlia ambayo watu wengi wanaweza kuwa hawajui.
