THE ROYAL WE" OR "PLURALITY OF RESPECT" DEBUNKED

"THE ROYAL WE" OR "PLURALITY OF RESPECT" DEBUNKED:
A Theological and Linguistic Critique of Plural Pronouns for Allah in the Quran

By Dr. Maxwell Shimba, Shimba Theological Institute

Abstract

This article critically examines the widespread Islamic defense of plural pronouns—"We," "Us," "Our"—used for Allah in the Quran. While Muslim scholars claim this represents the "Royal We" or "Plurality of Respect," this justification faces significant theological and linguistic problems, especially when considering Quran 21:17 and the consistent Islamic insistence on divine simplicity and oneness (tawhid). Moreover, the phenomenon is analyzed within the context of the Quran's roots and compared to the biblical use of the plural "Elohim." This article challenges the coherence and legitimacy of the "Royal We" claim, exposing its weaknesses and historical complications.

Introduction

A recurring apologetic in Islamic theology asserts that when Allah says "We," "Us," or "Our" in the Quran, He is not referencing a plurality of beings, but instead employing a "majestic plural," commonly called the "Royal We." This explanation is routinely given whenever critics point to passages where Allah appears to speak as more than one (e.g., Quran 2:34, 21:17, 15:9).

But if Allah is absolutely one—a singular entity with no partners or plurality—why does he consistently refer to himself in the plural? Does this align with Islamic claims about God's transcendence and uniqueness? Or does it expose an underlying syncretism or theological borrowing, possibly from the polytheistic backgrounds prevalent in pre-Islamic Arabia? And if Allah cannot be likened to humans (Quran 42:11), why borrow a distinctly human, royal convention to describe divine speech? This article will dissect these questions.

Section 1: The "Royal We" in Language—A Human, Not Divine, Convention

The "Royal We" or "Plurality of Respect" is well-known in certain human cultures, where monarchs and officials use plural pronouns to emphasize their status. In English, for example, Queen Victoria's "We are not amused" illustrates this convention. The use of such language is rooted in human social structures—hierarchies, courts, and collective leadership.

Key Point:

  • Nowhere in the Quran does Allah explain that His use of the plural is simply "majestic."

  • The Quran asserts, "There is nothing like unto Him" (Quran 42:11); Allah should not use human royal conventions to express Himself if He truly transcends all creation.

Contrast:

  • The God of the Bible—the term "Elohim" is a plural noun but is often used with singular verbs, and is consistently interpreted in Judeo-Christian theology as signifying majesty, fullness, or even a hint at plurality within unity (as in the Christian doctrine of the Trinity).

  • In the Bible, there are moments ("Let us make man in our image," Genesis 1:26) where the context supports this plural as meaningful.

Section 2: The Qur'anic Plural—Confusion and Contradiction

Let us look at specific Quranic texts. Allah often says "We sent down," "We created," or "Our angels." However, in other places, Allah switches to "I"—for example, Quran 20:14: "Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me…"

The Problem:
If Allah is not plural, then why the switch? If the plural is "majestic," why not use "I" throughout, to avoid theological confusion? The shift appears arbitrary and undermines the Quran’s own claim of clarity (Quran 12:1, 16:89).

Quran 21:17 – The Test Case

"Had We intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from [what is] with Us—if indeed We were to do so." (Quran 21:17, Sahih International)

  • If "We" refers only to Allah, does it mean Allah is proposing to take Himself as a consort? Does this fit the Islamic concept of God's transcendence?

  • If Muslims insist that "We" is a singular God, the verse becomes grammatically and theologically awkward—who is the potential partner? If "We" means more than one, it contradicts tawhid.

Logical Impasse:
Either the Quran is needlessly confusing in its language about God, or the plurality reflects an awkward attempt to cover over more ancient, pluralistic origins.

Section 3: Allah, Plurality, and Pagan Roots

The historical origins of Allah as a deity must also be considered. Pre-Islamic Arabia was rife with polytheism; the Kaaba itself once housed 360 idols. Scholarly research, including the works of Arthur Jeffery and Patricia Crone, indicates that "Allah" was originally regarded as the chief of a pantheon of gods.

Argument:

  • The plural pronouns ("We," "Us") may reflect an amalgamation of various deities into one supreme figure, resulting in lingering linguistic plurality.

  • Thus, Allah’s use of plural pronouns may not be "majestic," but a vestige of his composite, pagan origins.

Quranic Evidence:

  • The Quran repeatedly condemns "associating partners" with Allah (shirk), yet the grammar of the Quran itself seems to betray an underlying plurality.

Section 4: Elohim vs. Allah—A Theological Distinction

The God of the Bible, as revealed in the Old Testament, uses the plural noun Elohim, and the context (especially in Christian theology) sometimes supports a complex unity—fulfilled in the New Testament understanding of the Trinity. Thus, when God says "Let Us make man," the context supports either a majestic plural or intra-divine conversation.

By contrast, Islamic theology strictly denies any division, multiplicity, or partnership in the Godhead—Allah is a single, undifferentiated entity. This makes the repeated use of plural pronouns not only confusing but theologically incoherent.

Section 5: Conclusion—A Call for Consistency and Clarity

If Allah is truly one, eternal, indivisible, and beyond all human convention, then the persistent use of plural pronouns is inexplicable, misleading, and inconsistent with both the Quran’s own statements and Islamic doctrine.

The use of "We," "Us," and "Our" is not only linguistically unnecessary, but also historically suspicious and theologically problematic. The explanation of the "Royal We" is a weak apologetic, especially given Islam’s strict prohibitions against likening God to human beings.

In Summary:

  • If Allah is absolutely one, he should express himself as "I"—a simple, clear, and unambiguous singular pronoun.

  • The presence of plural language betrays either a confused borrowing from human tradition or, more troublingly, a holdover from earlier, pluralistic religious conceptions.

  • The "Royal We" fails as a defense; it is a human linguistic device, not a divine one.

Challenge:
Muslim theologians are invited to provide a more consistent and theologically sound explanation, or else admit the profound ambiguity and historical borrowing inherent in their scriptures.

MUHAMMAD ADMITS HE IS A FALSE PROPHET AND DOES NOT KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO HIM AFTER DEATH

Wednesday, December 14, 2016Surat Al Ah’qaaf 9:

Say: “I am not something original among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am only a clear warner.”

Today, we have evidence from Muhammad himself that he is nothing, and that Islam is not of any value.
Sorry to the followers of this so-called unique prophet, as he himself admitted and confessed that he does not know what will happen to him after death. Perhaps this is why he said in the hadith below that all sects will enter Hellfire. So, Muhammad will enter Hellfire. So, Muslims will enter Hellfire.

Hadith:
“The Jews split into seventy-one sects, and the Christians split into seventy-two sects, and my Ummah will split into seventy-three sects. All of them will enter Hellfire…”
[Ahmad, Abu Dawood, at-Tirmidhi, and ad-Daarimi]

As the evidence says above that all sects will enter Hellfire, now, which is the sect that will not enter Hellfire?

Theological and Scholarly Expansion

1. Context of Surat Al Ah’qaaf 9

Surat Al Ah’qaaf 46:9 states:

Say, “I am not a new thing among the Messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me; I am but a clear warner.”

Islamic Interpretation

  • Classical Islamic Scholars generally interpret this verse as a statement of Muhammad’s humility and his role as a prophet who is strictly bound to the revelations from Allah.

  • Tafsir Ibn Kathir: The verse is interpreted to mean that Muhammad is not different from previous messengers, nor does he claim independent knowledge about the ultimate fate of any individual, including himself, except what has been revealed by Allah.

  • Al-Tabari similarly explains that the Prophet is emphasizing that he does not possess divine knowledge of the unseen (al-ghayb), which is a trait reserved for Allah alone.

Christian and Critical Academic Perspective

  • Critical scholars see this verse as indicative of the uncertainty and human limitation of Muhammad’s role, contrasting sharply with the claims of some Muslims about his intercessory power or unique status.

  • Christian apologists often point to this verse to argue that Muhammad himself expressed uncertainty regarding his salvation, which contradicts the certainty of salvation offered through Jesus Christ in the New Testament (e.g., John 14:6, 1 John 5:13).

2. The Hadith on Sectarianism

“The Jews split into seventy-one sects, the Christians into seventy-two, and my Ummah will split into seventy-three sects. All of them will be in the Fire except one…”
[Sources: Ahmad 8492, Abu Dawood 4597, at-Tirmidhi 2641, ad-Daarimi 2517]

Islamic Context

  • The majority of Islamic scholars interpret this hadith as a warning against division and an encouragement to adhere to the Prophet’s example (Sunnah) and the consensus of the community (Jama'ah).

  • The “one group” that will be saved is interpreted differently across sects: Sunni scholars claim it is the Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, while various other sects (e.g., Shia, Sufis) have their own interpretations.

Christian and Academic Reflection

  • Christian theologians see this as evidence of doctrinal uncertainty within Islam, in contrast to the New Testament's teaching on the assurance of salvation for believers in Christ.

  • Sociologists of religion note that such hadith reflect early Islamic struggles with internal division, mirroring the splits in Judaism and Christianity, but also serve to legitimize certain interpretations over others.

3. Theological Reflection

From a Christian Perspective

  • Salvation and Assurance: Christianity, especially in the Pauline and Johannine tradition, affirms that believers can be assured of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9). This stands in contrast with the ambiguity presented in Muhammad’s admission in the Qur’an and the hadith regarding the fate of his followers.

  • Finality of Revelation: The Christian doctrine maintains that the fullness of God’s revelation and salvation is in Christ, who not only declares but guarantees eternal life (John 14:6, 1 John 5:11-13).

From an Islamic Perspective

  • Divine Sovereignty: Islam teaches that ultimate judgment belongs to Allah alone. Even prophets are not exempt from divine scrutiny, and ultimate knowledge of each soul’s destiny rests with God (Qur’an 31:34).

  • Humility of Prophets: Muhammad’s statement is seen as a sign of prophetic humility and submission to Allah’s will.

Academic Spectrum

  • Comparative Religion: Scholars recognize that both Islam and Christianity have traditions about division and “saved” communities, but they handle assurance of salvation differently. Where Christianity (especially Protestant traditions) leans toward assurance, Islam underscores the necessity of hope and fear, leaving final judgment to God.

  • Sectarianism: Both religions experienced early and enduring divisions, yet both preserved canonical traditions emphasizing unity and orthodoxy.

Conclusion

The statement in Qur’an 46:9 and the hadith about sectarian division invite deep theological reflection on authority, certainty, and salvation. While Islamic tradition sees these verses as emphasizing God’s ultimate authority and the necessity of following revelation, critical and Christian perspectives see in them a lack of assurance that only the Gospel of Christ fulfills.

The crucial question remains: Which path truly leads to salvation and certainty in the life to come?
For Christians, the answer is found in Christ alone, the only one who guarantees salvation and eternal life. For Muslims, hope is placed in God’s mercy, but the door remains open and uncertain.

MOHAMMAD IN THE BIBLE

Friday, April 12, 2019WONDERS OF THE WORLD AND CONGRATULATIONS TO MUSLIMS

Revelation 20:10
And the devil, who was deceiving them, was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the FALSE PROPHET are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

TRULY, MUHAMMAD WAS A FALSE PROPHET

ALLAH SAYS HE WILL CUT OFF THE GREAT VEIN OF THE HEART OF THE FALSE PROPHET:

Quran 69:44-46
Allah will cut off the great vein of the heart of a false prophet.

MUHAMMAD CONFESSES HIS GREAT VEIN WAS CUT OFF BY ALLAH:

FIRST EVIDENCE:

Sahih Bukhari 5:59:713
Muhammad confessed while he was dying: I feel as if my aorta is being cut from my heart.

SECOND EVIDENCE:

Abu Dawud 34:4498
This is the time when the great vein of my heart is being cut.

One question to Muslims:
Allah called Muhammad a false prophet, so why do you Muslims follow a false prophet?

LET US CONTINUE WITH OTHER EVIDENCE FROM THE QURAN:

Muhammad (SAW) admitted he had no power to perform miracles

Brothers and sisters, today I would like us to read a little about this Muhammad who claimed to have been sent by God. First, let's read:

17. Surah Al-Isra (Bani Israel)
90. And they said: We will not believe you until you cause a spring to gush forth for us from the earth,
91. Or you have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth in their midst in abundance,
92. Or you cause the sky to fall upon us in pieces as you claimed, or bring Allah and the angels before [us] face to face,
93. Or you have a house of gold, or you ascend into the sky. And [even then], we will not believe in your ascension until you bring down to us a book we may read. Say: Glory be to my Lord! Am I anything but a human messenger?
(Qur’an, Surah 17:90-93)

After being asked to perform at least one miracle, Muhammad failed miserably and did not perform a single miracle.

Question:

  1. Why did Muhammad fail to perform miracles as he was asked to do?

  2. Muhammad is the only prophet who failed to perform miracles since the creation of the world. Is he worthy to be followed and believed?

  3. Why didn’t Allah help His prophet to perform a miracle?

THE QURAN SAYS THAT A PROPHET MUST PERFORM MIRACLES;

MUHAMMAD ADMITS HE IS A FALSE PROPHET AND DID NOT PERFORM MIRACLES

The Qur’an itself confirms that prophets and messengers must perform miracles.

Qur’an 40:78, Surah Al-Mu’min [The Believer]
“And indeed We sent messengers before you: among them there are those We have told you about, and some We have not told you about. And it was not for any messenger to bring a miracle except by Allah’s permission.”

Muhammad never performed any miracle to prove his prophethood and messengership.

Qur’an 29:50, Surah Al-Ankabut (The Spider).
“And they say: ‘Why have not signs been sent down to him from his Lord?’ Say: ‘The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner.’”
(See also Qur’an 6:35-37; 13:7)

Muhammad admits that he never performed miracles. Therefore, according to their own Quran, Muhammad is a false prophet.
Beyond that, Muhammad never made any prophecy. So how can there be a prophet without prophecy?

One of the characteristics of a prophet is to give prophecy. Muhammad never gave any prophecy.

Brothers and sisters,

Muhammad was not a prophet of God and did not have the qualities of a PROPHET.

  1. Muhammad never spoke with the God who sent him.

  2. Muhammad had Satan with him since his birth.

  3. Muhammad confessed to being played by Satan during his calling in the cave.

  4. Muhammad confessed that Satan played with his mind and soul.

  5. Muhammad confessed that he was bewitched by Labiid bin Al’answan.

SO MUSLIMS, SHOW ME—where in the Torah, Psalms, or Gospel there is a prophet with such strange characteristics as Muhammad.

Come to Jesus, who is the only Way to Heaven.

God bless you all.

TRULY, MUHAMMAD WAS A FALSE PROPHET

MUHAMMAD SWEARS BY JESUS HIS GOD

Friday, December 2, 2016

Read the authentic hadith from Al-Bukhari:
Muhammad says this in (Bukhari Hadith number 425, volume 3), the hadith narrated by Abu Huraira, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
He said, "I swear by the One in whose hand my soul is, soon the Son of Mary will descend among you and will judge with justice."
If Muhammad swears by Jesus and acknowledges that Jesus will be the one to judge, why should I follow Allah, who is not Yahweh?
Why didn’t Muhammad swear by Allah?
NOW, IF ONE MUST SWEAR ONLY BY ALMIGHTY GOD, WHY DID MUHAMMAD SWEAR BY JESUS?
SO, JESUS IS ALMIGHTY GOD.

In the hadith narrated by Abdallah bin `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and reported by Al-Bukhari:
"إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ ، فَمَنْ كَانَ حَالِفًا فَلْيَحْلِفْ بِاللَّهِ أو فَلْيَصْمُتْ"
Its meaning: “Indeed, Allah forbids you from swearing by your fathers. Whoever has to swear, let him swear by Allah or remain silent.”

NOW, READ WHERE THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD SWEARS BY JESUS:
(Bukhari Hadith number 425, volume 3), the hadith narrated by Abu Huraira, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
He said, "I swear by the One in whose hand my soul is, soon the Son of Mary will descend among you and will judge with justice."

SO, MUHAMMAD KNOWS THAT JESUS IS ALMIGHTY GOD.

WHY JESUS CHRIST IS GREATER THAN MUHAMMAD AND ALLAH

Tuesday, April 16, 2019

Let us begin by quoting the books of Allah and Muhammad to see: who was with Muhammad in his heart?

Abu Huraira (r.a) narrated that "Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) had a devil (shaitan) with him from the time he was born" (Fat'hul Baary Volume 6, Page 389).

Is there any evidence that Muhammad was ever delivered from Satan? If there is, then Muslims, please bring it forward so we can see it.

Abu Huraira said, "I heard the Prophet of Allah say, 'There is no creature that is not touched by Satan, and that is why a baby cries loudly at birth, because Satan has touched him, EXCEPT for Mary and her son Jesus; they were not touched by Satan.' Then Abu Huraira said: 'And I seek refuge with You for her and her offspring from Satan' (Qur'an 3:36)."

My brothers and sisters, today Muhammad himself has admitted that JESUS was never touched by Satan, but he (Muhammad) and all Muslims have been touched and manipulated by Satan.

EVERY MUSLIM HAS A JINN IN HIS BODY

Jinns are allowed to reside in the body of any Muslim, so every Muslim has at least one Jinn and possibly more. Likewise, Jinns are allowed to live in the homes of Muslims. In any house of a believer of that faith, there is a Jinn or Jinns residing. It is an undeniable truth that without Jinns there is no Islam, just as without the Holy Spirit there is no Christianity. It is Jinns who took Prophet Muhammad for forty days in the valleys, where they instructed him regarding the establishment of that Islamic faith.

NOW LET US READ ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

  • Jesus was born with the Spirit of God (Matthew 1:18)

  • The Holy Spirit descended when He was baptized (Luke 3:22)

  • Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1)

  • Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:14)

  • Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me...” (Luke 4:18)

  • Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit (Luke 10:21)

  • The ministry of Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:22)

  • Anointed with the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:38)

  • Offered Himself—died—by the Spirit (Hebrews 9:14)

  • Returned to life by the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 3:18)

UNCLEAN JINNS WORSHIP ALLAH AND MUHAMMAD

Therefore, according to what Allah says in the Qur’an: “I have created jinn and humans only to worship Me” (Qur’an 57:58; 51:56), and also in heaven the Jinn worship (the Jinn who converted to Islam in 620 AD)—read Qur’an 72:14—these are good Jinn who travel and inherit eternal life in the Hereafter (Hell). The primary goal of Satan and the Jinn is to befriend as many humans as possible so that, by their numbers, he will have many to take with him to HELL (Qur’an 6:128). The important thing to know here is that the eternal fire was not created for humans but for Satan and all his angels (the Jinn or demons). These have no further chance to confess or repent.

Jesus Christ, whom Muslims acknowledge only as a Prophet, had no friendship or association with Satan or demons (Jinn). He commanded demons to leave those who were tormented by them (Matthew 8:29; Mark 5, etc.).

When Jesus left this world, He was taken up by a cloud and ascended upwards to heaven. Heaven is above, as the Qur’an confirms. Jesus was able to ascend and enter Heaven, but Jinn (demons) who have converted to Islam, when they merely try to ascend, are met with burning fire. We have seen that the Jinn who are Muslims by conversion live in the Hereafter, that is, in Hell. So, do you think other Muslims will end up anywhere different for eternity? In Islamic faith, it is believed that when a Muslim dies, there are two Jinns who guard him in his grave.

MY ADVICE TO CHRISTIANS:

My free advice to Christians is this: NEVER LEAVE CHRIST TO ENTER INTO THE FAITHS OF DEMONS (1 Timothy 4:1-2).

Jinns or demons are the same thing; there is no difference between them. All these demons/Jinn opposed God and were cast down to earth. The Bible says there is no forgiveness for Jinns because they have already been judged and are only waiting to be thrown into Hell.

Satan is still “the prince of the power of the air” (Ephesians 2:2). This means that Satan and the other fallen angels can influence our minds and thoughts through music, television, debates, etc. We are told to guard our thoughts and minds (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). 2 Corinthians 4:4 tells us that the god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers.

Satan is behind all false religions and world religions. Satan will do everything in his power to oppose God and all who follow Him. Although Satan’s fate is sealed: the lake of fire forever (Revelation 20:10).

God bless you all,

Shalom,

Dr. Maxwell Shimba, servant of Jesus Christ, the Almighty God

Was Jesus Sent Only to Israel?

Tuesday, October 22, 2019

Muslims often “preach” that Jesus did not come for the whole world but came only for the Jews. Then, they claim that Muhammad is the true prophet because he came for the entire world. The scripture they use to oppose Jesus’ prophethood to the world is what Jesus said when speaking with the Canaanite woman (that is, a non-Jew), who was asking Jesus to heal her daughter.

It is written:
He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” (Matthew 15:26).

God is a God of order and perfect timing. That’s why He didn’t create everyone at once. He started with just one person, and from that person, we all came. Similarly, He began by revealing Himself to just one nation in the entire world. From there, salvation spreads to all nations. It’s a clear fact that, except for Israel, all other peoples in the world originally worshiped other gods (that is, demons). Only Israel began with the true God.

That’s why when the Lord Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well, He told her:

"You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews." (John 4:22).

Salvation comes from the Jews because no other nation in the world knew the true God—all had pagan religions—whether white, African, Indian, Arab, etc. That is the truth.

To say that Jesus did not come for all nations is the same as saying, because God only created Adam and Eve, then He is not the God of my family since He didn’t create me the same way He created Adam.

One day, Jesus spoke to His disciples and told them:

"This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." (Luke 24:46-47).

Do you see that the Gospel was to begin at Jerusalem? And do you also see that He says all nations will be preached in His name? Are all nations only Israel?

The Canaanite woman came at a time that was not yet her time. That was the time for preaching the Gospel to Israel first, then to the whole world.

Below are further words from the Lord Jesus Himself confirming that He was sent to all nations worldwide and that He is the Messiah of God, anointed by the Holy Spirit to redeem the entire world.

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8).
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19).
"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 3:17).
"If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world." (John 12:47).
"I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheepfold; I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd." (John 10:15-16).
"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." (Matthew 24:14).

Let me conclude by reiterating a few things I have said. God has always started something with just one person.

  • He created one man, then we all came from him.

  • He revealed Himself to one nation, then we all came to know Him.

  • He began with one Son (Jesus), and then we are all born by faith in Him.

  • Likewise, He brought salvation to one nation, Israel, and then it spreads everywhere—that’s why He tells the Samaritan woman at the well, “Salvation is from the Jews.” (John 4:22).

This pattern of starting with one person or place is proof that all those who comfort themselves with sayings like “all religions are different paths that lead to God” are deceiving themselves and wasting their time and their eternal life! "Salvation is from the Jews"—that is, THROUGH JESUS ALONE!

So, because the time for the spread of salvation had not yet come (since God moves according to His schedule and timing), that is why He told the Canaanite woman (a non-Jew) that He was sent only to Israel.

But when the fullness of time came, that is, after He died and rose again, we see Him commissioning His apostles to go to the whole world.

And the Bible clearly states:
"Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called 'uncircumcised' by those who call themselves 'the circumcision' (which is done in the body by human hands)—remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility." (Ephesians 2:11-16).

Did Jesus say that He is God?

Tuesday, October 22, 2019

"Gospel preachers" from Islam usually object to the claim that Jesus is God. When you present them with evidence, they ask, "Show me the verse." There are actually many passages in the Bible that show the truth that Jesus is God. So many!

Once you give them a verse, they change and say, "I want the words that Jesus Himself spoke."

This is a FALSE and unbiblical criterion. The truth is, the WHOLE Bible is the Word of God. It does not matter if it was spoken by Moses, Isaiah, John, Peter, or Jesus Himself. It is written:

For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:21)

Therefore, their demand, “I want the words that Jesus Himself spoke,” is an invalid and illogical criterion.

The following is biblical evidence that JESUS CHRIST is God.

John 8:58
Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM."
"I AM" is a name belonging only to God. We find this name when Moses spoke with God and was sent to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt. It is written:

Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?" God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” (Exodus 3:13-14)

A human exists because God caused him to exist. A car exists because an engineer or designer caused it to be. A house exists because a builder made it. But God—HE JUST IS!! He does not exist because of anything or anyone else! That is why He said, "I AM WHO I AM!" Jesus is I AM. Therefore, He is God.

John 10:30
I and the Father are one.

Muslims claim that Jesus and God are one only in purpose, not in their essence. So I ask them about the following passage from Isaiah, and they have no answer:

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

This verse is very clear. The one spoken about is Jesus, and He is called "Mighty God."

John 14:9
Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?"

Jesus said these words after being asked a very clear question, aimed at knowing GOD THE FATHER! It is written:
Philip said to Him, "Lord, SHOW US THE FATHER, and it is enough for us."
Then Jesus answered plainly: "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father."
This means, "I am the Father Himself."

Revelation 1:17 and Revelation 22:13

I am the First and the Last
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Only God has the authority to be the first and the last; Jesus is the Alpha and Omega. Therefore, He is God.

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the WORD WAS GOD.

Muslims do not like this verse at all because it is very clear. Jesus is the Word; and the Word is God; therefore, Jesus is God!

John 20:28
Thomas answered Him, "MY LORD AND MY GOD!"

When Thomas said this, the Lord Jesus did not deny it and say, "I am not God." Instead, Jesus said to him,
"Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (John 20:29)

Acts 20:28
Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of GOD, WHICH HE BOUGHT WITH HIS OWN BLOOD.

Which God has blood? The answer is clear. This is Jesus Christ. He is the one who gave His life and shed His blood on the cross; and this is when He established the Church.

Colossians 1:16
For IN HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him.

All things were created in Him, Jesus. It means that all things originated from Jesus; because Jesus is the Word of God. And we know that the Creator of all things is God; therefore, Jesus is the Creator—He is God!

Colossians 2:9
For IN CHRIST ALL THE FULLNESS OF THE DEITY LIVES in bodily form.

We are all imperfect people. We fall again and again into sin. Therefore, no ordinary human can boast that he is as perfect as God. But in Jesus “ALL the fullness of God dwells.” Why? Because He is that very God.

1 Timothy 3:16
Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: GOD WAS MANIFESTED IN THE FLESH, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

Which God was manifested in the flesh? The answer is clear. It is Jesus Christ alone.

Titus 2:13
…while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, JESUS CHRIST,

Jesus Christ is the Great God!!

The MAIN problem Muslims have is this: They judge God by human standards. God says:

"Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?" (Jeremiah 32:27)

The answer is obvious. THERE IS NOTHING!

But you will find Muslims asking very strange questions. For example, if Jesus is God, when He died, who was watching over the world?

This is a question fit to be asked about a creature. If we were speaking of a human being who had died, then it would make sense to ask, while he was dead who was taking care of his family? Because this is a question about human attributes, since a human cannot be in two or more places at once. GOD IS NOT A HUMAN! HE IS ABLE TO DO ALL THINGS—ESPECIALLY THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB!

JESUS IS GOD FOREVER AND EVER!!

JESUS IS GOD "AL-MALIK AL-MULK" ACCORDING TO THE QURAN

JESUS IS GOD "AL-MALIK AL-MULK" ACCORDING TO THE QURAN

Dear reader,

The Quran says that Allah is Al-Malik al-Mulk, meaning He is the owner of everything. Does this attribute of Al-Malik al-Mulk also apply to the living Jesus?

Let us begin our research by reading the Quran and seeing for ourselves whether Jesus is truly God or not. One of the attributes or majesty of God according to the Quran is: Al-Malik al-Mulk, meaning THE OWNER OF EVERYTHING. This attribute of Al-Malik al-Mulk is one of the 99 names of Allah in the Quran.

Does Jesus have this attribute of OWNER OF ALL "Al-Malik al-Mulk"? Let us first read the Quran and see if Allah has this attribute of Al-Malik al-Mulk.

Surah YA-SIN 83:
"So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things; and to Him you will be returned."

Allah says that He is the Owner of everything in the Quran, which was written 632 years after Jesus. Does Jesus have this attribute of Owner of all things?

JESUS SAYS THIS:
Matthew 11:27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father; no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

This means that Jesus was the first to confess these words, that He is the owner of all things, according to the testimony of the Bible, which preceded the Quran by 632 years. JESUS SAYS THAT "ALL THINGS HAVE BEEN COMMITTED TO ME." This means that even Muhammad is now under Jesus.

JESUS CONTINUES TO SAY in John 16:15,
“All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

Jesus says that everything that belongs to His Father is His. At this point, the matter is settled, as no one can dispute this clear and complete verse. JESUS IS THE OWNER OF EVERYTHING.

So, between Jesus, who spoke these words 632 years before Allah, and Allah, who came later with the Quran full of doubts, whom shall we believe? The first, who is Jesus, or Allah, who is just copying from Jesus?

Dear friends, this is sufficient evidence that Jesus is God, for today we have learned that Jesus said and is called the OWNER OF ALL THINGS 632 years before the writing of the Quran.

Now, between the Bible, which came before the Quran, and the Quran, which came after the Bible, which book will you follow? Researchers in various fields use original data to verify and confirm a matter. And the data we have about the OWNER of all things, which is the earliest, is in the Bible and says that the OWNER OF ALL THINGS IS JESUS.

Today, I have answered the question of Muslims: Is Jesus God? The Quran, together with Allah, says that Jesus is God because Jesus has all the majesty and/or attributes of God, and one of those attributes is AL-MALIK AL-MULK.

JESUS IS GOD ACCORDING TO THE QURAN – KING OF KINGS

JESUS IS GOD ACCORDING TO THE QURAN – KING OF KINGS

Believers of the Islamic faith, through their religious preachers in various religious lectures, have often argued that Jesus Christ is not God on the grounds that God cannot be born.
Dear reader, I urge you to follow this lesson carefully so that you may know the truth about the divinity of Jesus Christ in the Quran:

Does Jesus possess the unique attributes of God according to the Quran?
Let us begin our investigation by reading the Quran and seeing for ourselves whether Jesus is truly God or not.

GOD IS KING
The First Attribute according to the Quran: God is King.
The Quran states that one of God’s attributes is “King.” Does Jesus possess this attribute of “King”? Let us read the Quran first.

Quran 59:23:
He is Allah, besides Whom there is no god, the King, the Holy, the Giver of peace, the Granter of security, Guardian over all, the Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme; Glory be to Allah from that which they associate (with Him).

Now, let us see if Jesus truly has this attribute of King, which is a unique attribute of God according to the Quran.

The Holy Bible says the following about Jesus Christ:
Revelation 17:14
They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings.

In this verse, we read that Jesus is called “King of Kings,” which is an attribute of Almighty God as witnessed in Quran Surah 59:23. Therefore, Allah and the Quran have affirmed that Jesus is God because the Bible confirms that Jesus is the King of Kings in Revelation 17:14.

Let us continue with another piece of evidence from the Quran which assures us that Jesus is God.

GOD IS HOLY
The Second Attribute according to the Quran: God is Holy.

Does Jesus have this attribute of “Holy”? Let us read the Quran first:

Quran 59:23
He is Allah, besides Whom there is no god, the King, the Holy, the Giver of peace, the Granter of security, Guardian over all, the Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme; Glory be to Allah from that which they associate (with Him).

In the Quran, we have read that one of the attributes of God is “Holy.” Does Jesus have this attribute of holiness?

Go to that same Quran, 19:19:
The angel said, "Indeed, I am only a messenger of your Lord to give you a pure son"—Isa (Jesus) son of Mary.

That same Quran confirms and answers us that Jesus, known as Isa son of Maryam in the Quran, is the Holy Son. Therefore, this attribute of holiness, which belongs to God alone, we read in the Quran, which was revealed by Allah, that Jesus possesses it. Jesus is called the Holy Son.

THE LORD IS ALMIGHTY GOD
The Third Attribute according to the Quran: The Lord is Almighty God.

Let us open the Quran and read about the Lord:

Quran 3:39
While he was standing in prayer in the chamber, the angels called to him: "Allah gives you glad tidings of Yahya (John), confirming (the word) from Allah, noble, chaste, and a prophet among the righteous."

Quran 39:29
Allah presents an example: a slave owned by quarreling partners and another belonging exclusively to one man—are they equal in comparison? Praise be to Allah! But most of them do not know.

Quran 39:29 says that Almighty God is Lord, and that is a praiseworthy attribute of God. Furthermore, that same Quran (Quran 3:39) says that Isa son of Maryam is the Word from Allah and is Lord. The Quran answers us that the attribute of Lord, which belongs to God alone, is given to Jesus. Now let us read the Bible for more evidence about Jesus being Lord.

Revelation 17:14
They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings.

In Revelation, we read that the Lamb, who is Jesus Christ, is called Lord of Lords. Therefore, this attribute of “Lord,” which is exclusively God’s, we read in the Quran, which was revealed by Allah, that Jesus is Lord and has acquired it. Likewise, in the Holy Bible, we have read that Jesus is called Lord, which is an exclusive attribute of God according to the Quran.

Today I have answered the question of Muslims: Is Jesus God? The Quran and Allah both affirm that Jesus is God because Jesus possesses all the attributes and/or honors of God.

JESUS IS GOD “AL-WARITH” ACCORDING TO THE QURAN

Dear reader,

Does Jesus possess the unique attributes of God according to the Quran? Let us begin our study by reading the Quran to see for ourselves if Jesus is truly God or not.

One of the attributes or majesty of God according to the Quran is Al-Warith, meaning THE INHERITOR OF ALL THINGS. This attribute, Al-Warith, is one of the 99 Names of Allah in the Quran.

Does Jesus have this attribute of being THE INHERITOR OF ALL THINGS, “Al-Warith”? Let us first read the Quran and see if Allah possesses this attribute of Al-Warith.

Surah Maryam 19:40:
“So beware! Know that surely Allah is the inheritor of the entire world and everything in it, and their account is with Allah.”

Allah says that He is the inheritor of all things in the Quran, which was written in the year 632 AD after Jesus. This means that Jesus was actually the first to declare these words, that He is the inheritor of all things, according to the evidence of the Bible, which came before the Quran.

Let us now see if Jesus truly has this attribute of being THE INHERITOR OF ALL THINGS, which is the majesty of God alone according to the Quran, written 632 years after Jesus.

The Holy Bible says the following about Jesus Christ:
Hebrews 1:2:
“But in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.”

In this verse, we read that Jesus is called “HEIR OF ALL THINGS,” which is the majesty/attribute of Almighty God as also testified in the Quran, Surah 19:40. Therefore, Allah and the Quran have acknowledged that Jesus is God because the Bible, which preceded the Quran by 632 years, has confirmed that Jesus is the heir of all things—and this evidence is found in the Book of Hebrews 1:2.

Dear friends, this is enough evidence to prove that Jesus is God, because today we have learned that Jesus was called and claimed to be THE INHERITOR OF ALL THINGS 632 years before the Quran was written. Now, between the Bible that came before the Quran and the Quran that came after the Bible, which book will you follow? Researchers in various fields always use the earliest data to authenticate matters. And the earliest data we have about the “Inheritor of All Things” is found in the Bible and says that THE INHERITOR OF ALL THINGS IS JESUS.

There is no debate here about the inheritance of all things, which belongs to Jesus. For He is the Son of God and was confirmed as the heir of all things 632 years before the Quran.

Today I have answered the question of Muslims: “Is Jesus God?” The Quran and Allah themselves say that Jesus is God because Jesus possesses all the majesty and/or attributes of God—and one of these attributes is AL-WARITH.
