SURAH 3:81 – AN INDISPUTABLE ERROR IN THE QUR’AN

 

Ironically there are plenty of evidences in the Qur’an itself to prove Islam false to the core. The damaging evidences against Islam are far too many for any sincere seeker of the truth to ignore. An increasing number of Muslims are leaving Islam quietly. To these mounting evidences against Islam, we will now add another indisputable evidence in the Qur’an that exposes in detail the errors of Allah.

THE COVENANT OF THE PROPHETS

We will commence with the reading of Surah 3:81. Given below are two translations of this Qur’anic verse:

Surah 3:81: Allah took a covenant with the Prophets, saying: “Now that you have been given the Book and Wisdom; there will come to you a Messenger who will confirm that which is with you, you will have to believe in him and help him in his mission.” Then He said “Do you affirm this covenant and agree to take this heavy responsibility?” The Prophets replied, “Yes, we do affirm.” Allah said, “Very well, bear witness to this and I too bear witness with you.” (Farook Malik)

And remember when Allah took the Covenant of the Prophets, saying: “Take whatever I gave you from the Book and Hikmah (understanding of the Laws of Allah), and afterwards there will come to you a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) confirming what is with you; you must, then, believe in him and help him.” Allah said: “Do you agree (to it) and will you take up My Covenant (which I conclude with you)?” They said: “We agree.” He said: “Then bear witness; and I am with you among the witnesses for this.” (Hilali-Khan)

A careful examination of Surah 3:81 reveals the following:

(1) Allah made a Covenant with the Prophets prior to the time of Muhammad.

(2) These Prophets were called upon by Allah to pledge their support to a forthcoming Messenger who was to appear to them later.

(3) The Prophets agree and Allah secures their pledge to help the forthcoming Messenger in his mission.

(4) This new Messenger will confirm the previous sacred Book of Allah which is in the possession of the Prophets. Since this Messenger will come during the presence of these Prophets, they will personally witness his confirmation of their sacred Book.

(5) Allah concludes the Covenant with the Prophets and bears witness with them to ensure the fulfillment of his Covenant.

As acknowledged by all Muslim scholars and testified clearly in Hilali-Khan’s translation of the Qur’an, the Messenger mentioned in this Qur’anic verse refers to none other than Muhammad. This raises some very vital questions. Who were the Prophets who lived during the time of Muhammad? Who were the Prophets present at the time of Muhammad to witness his confirmation of the previous Scriptures? Who were the Prophets on hand to help Muhammad in his mission as the Messenger of Allah? None!

Not a single Prophet, with whom Allah is supposed to have made a covenant with, lived during the time of Muhammad. Yet, Allah clearly testified in the Qur’an that there would be Prophets present at the time of this Messenger. And these Prophets would be readily available to the Messenger. In fact, Allah swore these Prophets into his service to help this forthcoming Messenger. Moreover, Allah himself bore witness with the Prophets that they will be on hand to help this Messenger in his mission. But there were none during the time of Muhammad. This leaves us with two options. Either Allah was wrong in his claim regarding the Prophets or the Messenger mentioned in Surah 3:81 is referring to someone other than Muhammad. Either option spells disaster for Islam.

What is even more damaging for Islam is the fact that Muhammad excluded himself as the Messenger in Surah 3:81. Why do we say that? This is because Muhammad clearly ruled out the possibility for any Prophets to exist as his contemporaries during his tenure as the Prophet of Allah. Muhammad openly testified to this outcome when he made the following proclamation to his early Companions:

Sahih Muslim, Book 30, Number 5835:

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: I am most akin to Jesus Christ among the whole of mankind, and all the Prophets are of different mothers but belong to one religion and no Prophet was raised between me and Jesus.

According to Muhammad, no Prophets were raised between the time of Jesus and him. In other words, the only Prophet raised by Allah after the time of Jesus was Muhammad. This means no Prophets could have lived during the time of Muhammad’s career as a Prophet of Allah. As such, none could be there on hand to welcome him. However, Surah 3:81 clearly testifies that there would be Prophets in attendance to help this new Messenger in his mission. Since all Islamic scholars without exception recognize Muhammad as the Messenger of Surah 3:81, they must now explain why no Prophets were present at the time of Muhammad. Muslims cannot give the name of a single Prophet who lived during the time of Muhammad. The instant they come up with a name, they would be going against the teachings of Muhammad since he clearly testified that no Prophets were raised between Jesus and him. Evidently Surah 3:81 is an indisputable lie. If Muhammad is right, then Allah is wrong and vice-versa. Muslims have to choose between a false prophet and a false deity.

As we can see, Surah 3:81 poses a real dilemma for Muslims. If Allah’s inspired words in the Qur’an are precise in their meaning, then this proves that Allah was absolutely wrong in his claim that the Prophets with whom he concluded his Covenant would be there to assist Muhammad. The only way out for Muslims to accept Surah 3:81 as true is to deny Muhammad as the Messenger in this Qur’anic verse. However, this is even more damaging since Muslims will have to now reject Muhammad as their Messenger. Without Muhammad there will be no Islam. In addition, since the Qur’an claims that Muhammad is the final Messenger of Allah, then no other Messenger can be expected to appear at a later period in time to fulfill the Covenant of Allah in Surah 3:81. Can Muslims really worship a deity who makes erroneous covenants and erroneous predictions and erroneous promises in his inspired book? This firmly confirms that the Qur’an is false and Allah is a fraud. Now, for the defining moment of truth for Muslims.

If Surah 3:81 is indeed speaking about the coming of Muhammad, then this proves that the Qur’an is completely wrong when it stated that there would be some Prophets of Allah at hand to help Muhammad in his mission. Thus, the Qur’an contains a serious error in it. Allah’s prophetic proclamation regarding the presence of the Prophets during the time of Muhammad failed to materialize as he had prophesied. The Qur’an is as false as the unfulfilled Covenant of Allah. This proves that either Allah was deliberately deceiving the Muslims through a false revelation in the Qur’an or he was totally powerless to discern the future. This disqualifies his godship. Muslims have to come to terms with the fact that either Allah is a deceitful liar or he has no clue whatsoever about the outworking of future events. Well, what is the true reason why there were no Prophets at the time of Muhammad? For the answer, Muslims must turn to the Bible. In fact, the Qur’an encourages them to do so:

Surah 10:94: “If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee: the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt.” (Yusuf Ali)

Yes, why could not there be Prophets living at the time of Muhammad? The answer is plain. The Holy Bible clearly testifies that Jesus will be the final one to be sent by God. No Prophets or Messengers will be sent to mankind after him. The following verses in the Bible substantiate this point:

Hebrews 1:1-2: “God, who long ago spoke on many occasions and in many ways to our forefathers by means of the prophets, has at the end of these days spoken to us by means of a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things.”

And Jesus clarified this truth by means of an illustration that he gave to the religious leaders of his time:

Matthew 21:33-39: “Hear another illustration: There was a man, a householder, who planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a winepress in it and erected a tower, and let it out to cultivators, and traveled abroad. When the season of the fruits came around, he dispatched his slaves to the cultivators to get his fruits. However, the cultivators took his slaves, and one they beat up, another they killed, another they stoned. Again he dispatched other slaves, more than the first, but they did the same to these. Lastly he dispatched his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ On seeing the son the cultivators said among themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him and get his inheritance!’ So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.

Matthew 21:45: When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his illustrations, they knew that he was speaking about them. Although they wanted to seize him, they feared the crowds, because these regarded him as a prophet.

In the above illustration:

• The “Householder” represents God.
• The “Vineyard” is the Nation of Israel.
• The “Cultivators” are the leading representatives of the Nation of Israel who rejected the Prophets of God.
• The “Slaves” represent the Prophets.
• And the “Son” in the illustration is Jesus Christ.

As we can see, Jesus clearly identified himself as the Final Messenger of God. As the culmination of the Prophets, no one else could be sent after him. Thus, it can clearly be seen that while the Bible is manifestly accurate in the outworking of God’s purpose, the Qur’an is seriously in error. This is clearly proven not only by what is stated in the Bible but also by what actually transpired at the time of Muhammad. Just as the Bible foretold, there were no other Prophets at the time of Muhammad. Islamic history itself confirms the truthfulness of the Bible. History is on the side of the Holy Bible. However, there is more.

There is a vital lesson for Muslims to learn from the evidences presented here. The Bible testifies that no Messengers will be sent by the true God after the coming of the culmination of the Prophets – the Messiah himself. Jesus is the final Prophet. That is why Muhammad simply cannot be a Messenger of the true God. This is the reason why according to both the Holy Bible and the Qur’an, the only Prophet who will be sent a second time is Jesus Christ. God cannot send another. Muhammad simply cannot fit the equation. It does not make sense for Jesus to be sent again a second time during the Day of Judgment if Muhammad is truly the final Prophet as Muslims claim. Ask yourself, why did God send Jesus and not Muhammad at the culmination of mankind’s history? Carefully consider now the following evidences. According to the Qur’an, Jesus was a Prophet of Allah:

Surah 19:30: Jesus said: Truly, I am a servant of God. He gave me the Book and He made me a Prophet. (Laleh Bakhtiar)

And the Qur’an claims that Muhammad was the last Prophet of Allah:

Surah 33:40: “Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Last of the prophets; and Allah is cognizant of all things.” (Shakir)

If the above claim in the Qur’an is true, then no Prophets should appear after the time of Muhammad. Therefore, if Muslims agree with the statements of Allah in Surah 19:30 and Surah 33:40, then they must also agree that after the time Muhammad no Prophets should be sent to mankind. Otherwise, the claim that Muhammad was the last Prophet would be false. The vital fact is that the Qur’an clearly states that Allah would send Jesus once again to mankind after the time of Muhammad. No other Prophets were blessed with this unique privilege. If Jesus returns as a Prophet of Allah during his Second Coming, then it means that the Qur’an is false in its claim that Muhammad is the final Prophet of Allah. However, if Jesus returns in the official role as someone other than a Prophet, then this is an admission in the Qur’an that he must be more than a Prophet.

Muslims, let this sink in: If Jesus returns as a Prophet of Allah, he would destroy the Qur’an’s claim that Muhammad was the final Prophet sent by Allah. Thus, for the claim in the Qur’an to be true, Jesus cannot return as a Prophet of Allah. However, if Jesus returns as someone other than a Prophet of Allah, he would then destroy all the Qur’anic verses that recognize him as the Prophet of Allah. Either option proves Islam false. So, who do you think is the final Prophet of God? Is it Jesus or Muhammad?

We use the above arguments merely to prove the indefensible position of Islam. We absolutely do not believe in the Muslim claim that Jesus Christ is a Prophet of Allah. We strongly believe he is a Prophet of Jehovah. However, we believe Jesus Christ is more than a Prophet. We believe that he is truly the Son of God.

Surah 3:81 proves that Allah, Muhammad, Islam and the Qur’an are all forgeries. Just one error is sufficient to prove the Qur’an wrong. But as we have seen, errors after errors keep turning up in the Qur’an. The only way out of this dilemma for Muslims is to leave Islam and seek the true God.

John 17:3: “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.”

Unlike Allah, the true God does not lie. And he foretells the future with precision:

Hebrews 6:18: “It is impossible for God to lie.”

Isaiah 46:9-10: “Remember the former things of a long ago, that I am God and there is no other, nor is there anyone like me. I am making known the end from the beginning and from ancient times what is still to come. The One saying, ‘My own purpose will stand, and I will do everything I intended to do.’”

This article may understandably upset or anger some of our Muslim readers. But please remember that the ones revealing these truths about Islam are in reality the best friends of the Muslims. While Truth may hurt, it is the Lies that will kill you. Your eternal salvation depends on knowing the Truth about your Creator.

HOW MUSLIMS ARE PROVING THEIR QUR’AN IS FALSE

 

Many are unaware of the fact that Muslims themselves invalidate the Qur’an by rejecting some of the most essential verses of the Qur’an. This article will provide the references of the specific Qur’anic verses which Muslims reject as obsolete and no longer valid. You will also be shocked to learn how Muslims desperately try to persuade Christians to disbelieve parts of the Qur’an in order to win their arguments against Christians. If you find these claims unbelievable or even perplexing, please read this article carefully. This article is a must for all those who desire to share the Good News of God’s Kingdom with Muslims. We openly challenge any Muslim to disprove the facts presented in this article.

The Qur’an repeatedly instructs the Jews and the Christians to read the Torah and the Gospel. Addressing the Jews, Allah gave them the following instruction:

Surah 3:93: “You bring the Torah, and read it, if you are men of truth.” (Syed Vicar Ahamed)

And when the Jews turned to Muhammad for judgment, Allah reprimanded them:

Surah 5:43: But why do they come to you for Judgment when they have the Torah which contains Allah’s commandments? Yet they turn back after that. In fact, they are not true believers. (Farook Malik)

Allah was astonished that the Jews turned to Muhammad for judgment when they had in their possession something far superior. They had the Torah with them. They had in their possession the very Book of Allah to guide them in everything. And Allah instructs the Christians:

Surah 5:47: Therefore, let those who follow the Gospel judge according to what God has revealed in it. Those who do not judge by what God has sent down are rebellious. (W. Khan)

The above Qur’anic verse clearly states that Christians should believe in their Gospel and judge matters by its teachings. Therefore, as testified in the Qur’an itself, Allah admonishes:

The Jews to judge by the Torah.

And the Christians to judge by the Gospel.

And addressing both the Jews and the Christians, Allah stated the following:

Surah 5:66: If they had observed the Torah and the Gospel and what was revealed to them from their Lord, they would surely have been nourished from above and from below. (W. Khan)

Surah 5:68: Say: “O followers of the Bible! You have no valid ground for your beliefs unless you truly observe the Torah and the Gospel, and all that has been bestowed from on high upon you by your Sustainer!” (Asad)

The Fifth Surah containing the above two Qur’anic verses is known in Arabic as Surah Al-Maidah. The complete Surah was revealed piecemeal during the period spanning the last five years of Muhammad’s life. The time period for the compilation of the entire Qur’an was 23 years. Surah Al-Maidah was revealed progressively from the eighteenth to the twenty-third year. This proves that even when the Qur’an was nearing its completion, it was never the intention of Allah to replace the Torah or the Gospel with the Qur’an. Even at this late stage of the Qur’an’s compilation, Allah commanded the Jews and the Christians to follow the teachings of their own sacred Scriptures. In other words, the Qur’an is not meant for them. The Torah and the Gospel was indeed sufficient for them.

In contrast, Allah repeatedly commands Muslims to believe in the Torah and the Gospel which were revealed to the Jews and the Christians:

Surah 3:84: Say: “We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in the Books given to Moses, Jesus, and the Prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we bow our will (in Islam).” (Yusuf Ali)

Surah 3:84 needs no explanation. It simply commands Muslims to believe in the previous Books of Allah. The previous Books of Allah are the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel.

Surah 2:136: Say (O Muslims): ‘We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac and Jacob, and the tribes and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which the prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinctions between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered.” (Pickthall)

Surah 2:136 is an important Qur’anic verse for Muslims to consider seriously. Note carefully that in addition to commanding Muslims to believe in the earlier Scriptures of Allah, it also warns Muslims to make “no distinctions between any of them.” Therefore, a Muslim cannot exercise faith in the Qur’an without exercising an equal amount of faith in the Torah and the Gospel.

Surah 4:136: O you who believe! Believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Scripture which He hath sent to His Messenger and the Scripture which He sent to those before him. Any who deny Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Day of Judgment, have gone far, far astray.” (Yusuf Ali)

Surah 4:136 sternly warns Muslims of the consequences of those who “deny His Books.” It states that such ones “have gone far, far astray.” Notice, it does not say Book but Books. Since no Books were revealed by Allah after the time of the Qur’an, it must therefore be referring to the Books that were revealed before the Qur’an. The Qur’an recognizes only four divine Books by name. The four divine Books are the Torah, the Psalms, the Gospel and the Qur’an. Three out of the four Books mentioned here can only be found in the Bible which is in our possession today.

And in the following Qur’anic verse, Allah commands Muslims to accept as true everything that is written in the Scriptures of God. Those who accept some parts as true while rejecting other parts as corrupted should pay close attention to the following warning of Allah:

Surah 2:85: “Then is it only a part of the Book that you believe in, and do you reject the rest? But what is the reward for those among you who behave like this but disgrace in this life? – And on the Day of Judgment they shall be consigned to the most grievous penalty. For Allah is not unmindful of what you do.” (Yusuf Ali)

The Qur’an clearly teaches that if a Muslim accepts only the Qur’an as true while rejecting the Bible, he has “gone far, far astray” and a “grievous penalty” awaits him. All the above commandments to believe in the Torah and the Gospel that were given to the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims can still be found in the Qur’an today.

Even the Prophet of Islam was commanded to consult “those who have been reading the Book from before him” in order to clear his doubts regarding the Qur’an. Those who have been “reading the Book” before the time of Muhammad were the Jews and the Christians:

But if you (Muhammad) are in doubt as to what We have revealed to you, ask those who read the Book before you. Verily the Truth from thy Lord hath come unto thee. So be not thou of the waverers. (Pickthall)

Let us carefully analyze the full implication of this single verse in the Qur’an. The commandment of Allah in Surah 10:94 imposes upon Muhammad the commitment to recognize the Holy Bible as the only existing source of divine revelation that was available to determine the validity of the Qur’an. This Qur’anic verse is clearly stating that the Bible functions as the standard for Muhammad to determine whether the Qur’an is true or not. Therefore, the Bible functions as the judge to determine whether Muhammad’s revelations are genuinely from God or not. The Bible’s evidence is critical for the confirmation of the authenticity of the Qur’an.

Since the Bible is the standard of truth with which the Qur’an must agree, it stands above the judgment of the Qur’an. It is the Qur’an and not the Bible that has to be viewed in the light of previous Scriptures. It is the Bible that evaluates the Qur’an and not the other way round. Having these points firmly established, let us consider Surah 5:47 once again:

Surah 5:47: And let the people of the Gospel judge according to what Allah has revealed therein, and whoso judges not by what Allah has revealed, these it is who are the transgressors. (Sher Ali)

Surah 5:47 clearly admonishes Christians to judge by the rule of the Gospel. Therefore, Christians are commanded to judge everything in the light of the Gospel. And this includes judging the Qur’an. We are commanded to judge the validity of the Qur’an by the divine teachings found in the Torah and the Gospel. And Muslims must remember that this admonishment comes from none other than Allah. And this admonishment of Allah can still be found in the Qur’an today.

However, when we examine the Qur’an in the light of the Torah and the Gospel, we can clearly see that the Qur’an contradicts the divine teachings that were revealed to the Jews and the Christians. That is why the Jews and the Christians who were contemporaries of Muhammad rejected him as a true prophet. Therefore, when we judge the Qur’an, according to the admonition of Allah in Surah 5:47, it becomes apparent that the Qur’an is false. And this automatically means Islam is a false religion.

As expected, Muslims will now come up with their usual argument: “The Bible you have today is corrupted.” We can provide numerous evidences from both the Qur’an and Islamic sources to thoroughly refute their argument. However in this article, we will use the same methodology that Muslims use against the Bible. We will use their very own argument against the Qur’an. We will begin by considering two very important teachings in the Qur’an:

TEACHING NUMBER ONE:

The Qur’an reveals that the Torah and the Gospel are the Words of Allah. It also clearly states that these Scriptures were revealed by him:

Surah 5:44: “Lo! We did reveal the Torah, wherein is guidance and a light.” (Pickthall)

Surah 3:3: He has revealed to thee the Book with truth, verifying that which is before it, and He revealed the Torah and the Gospel. (Maulana)

Surah 5:46: “And We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, confirming that which was revealed before him in the Torah, and We bestowed on him the Gospel wherein is guidance and a light, confirming that which was revealed before it in the Torah – a guidance and an admonition unto those who ward off evil.” (Pickthall)

TEACHING NUMBER TWO:

The Qur’an teaches that no one can change the Words of Allah:

Surah 6:115: And the Word of your Lord has been perfected in truthfulness and justice. There is no one who can change His Words. And He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (M. Tahir-ul-Qadri)

Surah 10:64: “None can change the Words of Allah. This is indeed the Supreme Triumph.” (Pickthall)

Surah 18:27: No one can change His Words. You will never find any safe haven apart from Him. (A. Bewley)

However, Muslims are telling us not to believe these verses of the Qur’an since the Bible has now become corrupted. By rejecting these Qur’anic verses, Muslims are actually claiming that some parts of the Qur’an are false. This proves that the Qur’an is outdated and no longer accurate. It is no longer trustworthy because it is instructing people to read Books that are corrupted and no longer valid. Therefore, the Qur’an must be updated to remain relevant for Muslims today. Muslims need a new prophet to update and rectify the existing errors in the Qur’an.

This leads to the inevitable conclusion that Muhammad cannot be the Seal of the Prophets as claimed in Surah 33:40. Muslims need another prophet to correct and update the outdated information in the Qur’an. Therefore, the Qur’an cannot be the final revelation because it is teaching people to read and believe in false information. Since Muhammad does not qualify as the Seal of the Prophets, it proves Surah 33:40 is false. This means Muhammad is a false prophet.

Whenever Muslims claim that the Bible is corrupted, they are in effect saying that the Qur’an is no longer accurate enough to be trusted. If the Bible is truly corrupted as Muslims claim, then it is an admission by Muslims that the Qur’an is outdated since some of its verses are no longer true. Of course, we do not believe the lies by Muslims that the Bible is corrupted. God Almighty guarantees that the Bible will be preserved forever. And it will remain authentic for all eternity:

Isaiah 40:8: the green grass dries up, the blossom withers, But the Word of our God endures forever.

And the Qur’an agrees:

Surah 10:64: “The Word of God shall never change. That is the Supreme Triumph.” (W. Khan)

In conclusion, we would like to quote Psalms 57:6:

They have dug a pit ahead of me, but they fell into it themselves.

When Muslims use deception and lies to deceive people into believing that the Bible is no longer the Word of God, they do not realize that they are actually deceiving themselves. They deceive themselves by failing to see that they are actually rejecting the teachings of the Qur’an. The dilemma for Muslims is that by trying to prove the Bible false they are proving the Qur’an false. By trying to protect Islam, they end up becoming apostates of Islam. Muslims have indeed “gone far, far astray.” We are not the ones saying this but Allah.
