Where Does the Quran Say Allah Gave the Torah Directly to Moses?

A Theological and Textual Challenge to Islamic Claims

By Dr. Maxwell Shimba, Shimba Theological Institute

Introduction

Among the persistent demands of Muslim apologists in interfaith dialogues is the challenge to Christians to produce a verbatim statement from Jesus in the Bible: "I am God; worship Me." This demand for explicit wording is often used to undermine the doctrine of Christ’s divinity, despite the abundance of scriptural testimony to Jesus' divine nature through explicit and implicit statements, titles, and actions.

Curiously, this same criterion, when turned toward the foundations of Islamic claims regarding the Torah (Tawrat), exposes a significant textual and theological gap. Muslims universally affirm that Allah revealed the Torah directly to Moses, yet upon close inspection, the Qur’an does not contain a single verse where Allah directly and explicitly says to Moses, "I gave you the Torah." Instead, the relevant verses are indirect or constructed through conjunctions and narrative summary, not through direct divine address.

This article, therefore, poses a critical question to Muslim theologians and apologists: Where in the Qur’an does Allah, in His own words, say to Moses, "I gave you the Torah"? If such explicitness is the standard for Christian claims, let it be applied fairly and equally to the Islamic claim regarding the Torah and Moses.

1. Qur’anic Passages Commonly Cited

Surah 5:44

“Indeed, We revealed the Torah, in which was guidance and light...”
(Qur’an 5:44)

This verse is clear that Allah claims to have revealed the Torah, but it is entirely silent about the recipient. There is no direct reference to Moses in this verse, nor does Allah say, "O Moses, I have given you the Torah." It is a general statement about the Torah, not its transmission.

Surah 32:23

“And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, so do not be in doubt over his meeting. And We made it [i.e., the Torah] guidance for the Children of Israel.”
(Qur’an 32:23)

Here, Allah says He gave “the Scripture” (al-kitab) to Moses. However, the Arabic does not specify “the Torah” in this clause; rather, it uses the generic word “scripture” and then, in a separate sentence, states that the Torah was made a guidance for the Children of Israel. The structure is conjunctive, not directly attributive. The Torah is not directly named as that which was given to Moses in the same breath.

Surah 7:144–145

“[Allah] said, ‘O Moses, I have chosen you over the people with My messages and My words to you...’ And We wrote for him on the tablets something of all things...”
(Qur’an 7:144–145)

Again, there is reference to “tablets” and “messages,” but the term "Torah" does not occur here, nor is there an explicit divine declaration: "I have given you the Torah."

Surah 6:154

“Then We gave Moses the Scripture, making complete [Our favor] upon the one who did good and as a detailed explanation of all things...”
(Qur’an 6:154)

As in 32:23, the text speaks of “the Scripture” (al-kitab), but not “the Torah” (al-Tawrat). The connection between "the Scripture" and "the Torah" is made by tradition, not by the explicit words of the Qur’an itself.

2. The Polemic of Explicitness: Applying the Muslim Standard

Muslim polemics demand that Christians provide a direct, first-person quotation from Jesus saying, “I am God,” for the claim of His divinity to be valid. This standard is rigid and rarely applied consistently to Islamic doctrines. If we apply the same standard, we must ask:
Where does Allah say, in His own words, "O Moses, I gave you the Torah"?
Or, at the very least:
Where does the Qur’an record a conversation where Allah says to Moses, "I am giving you the Torah"?

Despite repeated references to "scripture" (al-kitab), "tablets," and "guidance," the Qur’an never contains the verbatim phrase: "O Moses, I gave you the Torah." Instead, Muslim belief that Moses received the Torah is inferred through exegesis, secondary hadith sources, and traditional interpretations, rather than on the basis of explicit Qur’anic language.

3. Theological and Hermeneutical Implications

The absence of an explicit, direct statement from Allah to Moses regarding the Torah challenges the consistency of Muslim polemics. If Muslim doctrine rests upon inference, analogy, and interpretive tradition to assert that Moses received the Torah, then, by the same hermeneutical allowance, Christians are justified in affirming the divinity of Jesus through explicit and implicit biblical testimony, even where the exact phrase “I am God” is absent.

Furthermore, the persistent demand for verbatim statements from Christian scripture is revealed to be arbitrary, selective, and ultimately self-refuting when the foundational claims of Islam itself cannot meet this bar.

4. Conclusion: A Call for Consistency

Until and unless Muslim scholars can produce a verse from the Qur’an in which Allah, addressing Moses, says, "I gave you the Torah," the Islamic claim that Moses received the Torah directly from Allah must be recognized as an inference rather than an explicit, verbatim divine statement. Consistency demands that either both traditions be allowed the interpretive space to affirm their beliefs, or both be rejected on the basis of the absence of explicit wording.

Let those who demand, "Where did Jesus say, 'I am God'?" also be willing to answer,
"Where did Allah say to Moses, 'I gave you the Torah'?"
until then, the standard remains one of double measure.

ISLAM IS A MAN-MADE RELIGION AND DID NOT EXIST BEFORE MUHAMMAD

A Critical Theological and Historical Analysis

By Dr. Maxwell Shimba, Shimba Theological Institute

Introduction

The claim that Islam predates Muhammad and has been the original faith since Adam is central to Islamic theology. Islamic orthodoxy posits a universalist view: all prophets were Muslims, all past revelations are part of the continuum of Islam, and thus, Islam is as old as humanity itself.1 Yet, this claim merits rigorous examination against the backdrop of ancient textual evidence, religious self-identification, and historical consciousness.

This paper critically examines whether Islam, as a religious identity and doctrinal system, existed before Muhammad. Special emphasis is placed on primary sources, historical method, and direct engagement with major Islamic apologetic arguments.

The Islamic Universalist Claim

The Core Assertion

Muslim theologians assert that "Islam" is not limited to the system established by Muhammad, but is instead the primordial faith of all genuine prophets and their followers.2 The Quran itself declares:

"Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam."
(Quran 3:19)

And regarding Abraham:

"He was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but a true Muslim (hanifan musliman), and was not of the polytheists."
(Quran 3:67)

Based on such verses, Muslims believe that Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, and Jesus all preached "Islam" and were "Muslims."3

Apologetic Argument

Islamic apologetics often claims:

  1. The message of submission (Islam) is universal and found in earlier revelations.

  2. Practices such as ritual purity, prostration, and fasting are evidence of continuity between Islam and previous faiths.

  3. The Torah and Gospel were originally Islamic, though later corrupted.

Methodological Framework

Criteria for Analysis

  • Primary Sources: Only documents demonstrably written before Muhammad (i.e., before the 7th century CE) will be considered.

  • Terminological Evidence: Explicit use of "Islam" (الإسلام) or "Muslim" (مسلم) as religious identity.

  • Doctrinal Substance: Beyond practices, doctrinal and theological content must reflect Islam as later defined.

1. Textual Silence on "Islam" and "Muslim" Prior to Muhammad

A. Hebrew Bible / Old Testament

Nowhere in the Hebrew Bible do we find the term "Islam" or "Muslim." Abraham is called the "friend of God" (Isaiah 41:8), a recipient of the covenant (Genesis 17), and the progenitor of Israel—not a "Muslim." The central theme is covenant, not submission.4 Even in post-exilic literature (e.g., Daniel, Ezra), the concept of "Islam" as later articulated is absent.

B. New Testament

Jesus and his followers never identify as "Muslims" or claim to follow a religion called "Islam." Early Christians referred to themselves as members of "the Way" (Acts 9:2; 19:9, 23), and later as "Christians" (Acts 11:26). Paul explicitly refers to himself as a "servant of Christ Jesus" (Romans 1:1), not as a "Muslim."5

C. Second Temple and Greco-Roman Literature

No usage of "Islam" or "Muslim" is found in the Dead Sea Scrolls, Philo of Alexandria, Josephus, or any pre-Islamic Arabian inscriptions.6 Jewish and Christian sects of the period—Essenes, Pharisees, Sadducees, Nazarenes, Ebionites—had well-defined self-identities, none of which included the terms or concepts later associated with Islam.

2. The Argument from Shared Practices

Islamic apologetics often points to shared ritual practices—ablution, prostration, fasting—as evidence of pre-Islamic Islam. However, this argument is fundamentally flawed:

  • Ablution: Ritual washing is central to Levitical law (see Leviticus 15), as well as to ancient Egyptian and Zoroastrian practice.7 It does not define a religious identity.

  • Prostration: Prostration is an ancient gesture of worship seen in Daniel 6:10 (Jewish), Matthew 26:39 (Christian), and in Hindu and Buddhist traditions.

  • Fasting: Fasting predates Islam by centuries and is prominent in Judaism (Leviticus 16:29-31; Esther 4:16) and Christianity (Matthew 6:16-18).

These practices are not unique to Islam, nor do they imply Islamic self-identity. Religious universals cannot serve as evidence for a specific faith.

3. Doctrinal and Theological Distinctions

A. Judaism

The center of Jewish theology is covenant (ברית, berit) and Torah obedience, not universal submission.8 God is known as Yahweh, not Allah; the Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4) is the core confession, not the Shahada.

B. Christianity

Christian faith revolves around the incarnation, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the new covenant (Luke 22:20). Early Christians confessed "Jesus is Lord" (Romans 10:9), not "there is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."

C. Islam

Islam, as established by Muhammad, is defined by the Five Pillars, the Quran, and the Sunnah. The doctrine of tawhid (absolute monotheism) and the prophethood of Muhammad are non-negotiable tenets unknown to previous revelations.9

4. Historical and Archaeological Evidence

No archaeological inscription, manuscript, or papyrus prior to the 7th century contains reference to "Islam" as a religious system or to its followers as "Muslims."10

  • Pre-Islamic Arabia: Inscriptions reference gods like Hubal, Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and Manat—not Allah in a monotheistic Islamic sense.11

  • Christian and Jewish Writings: Non-Islamic sources do not recognize Islam or Muslims prior to Muhammad.

5. Islamic Apologetics: Critical Engagement

A. Retrojection and Reinterpretation

Islamic polemics often retroject later concepts into ancient texts. For instance, calling Abraham a "Muslim" or claiming "Islam" means generic submission. However, historical-critical scholarship rejects such anachronisms, as self-identity in ancient texts is contextually bound.12

B. Alleged Corruption of Previous Scriptures

Muslim apologists assert that Jews and Christians corrupted their scriptures, hence the absence of explicit references to Islam.13 However, textual criticism and manuscript evidence (Dead Sea Scrolls, Codex Sinaiticus, etc.) demonstrate remarkable fidelity in the transmission of biblical texts long before the advent of Islam.14 There is no textual gap where "Islam" was erased or altered.

C. "Hanif" and Primordial Monotheism

The term hanif in the Quran refers to pre-Islamic monotheists, often linked to Abraham. Yet, outside the Quran, there is no evidence that such a community called itself "Muslim" or that their faith matched Islam doctrinally or ritually.15

6. Summary Table: Key Figures and Self-Identity

Figure Self-Designation Faith/Practice Pre-Islamic Source
Adam Man, created being Covenant, not "Islam" Genesis 1–5
Abraham Hebrew, Friend of God Covenant, circumcision Genesis 12–25
Moses Prophet of Yahweh Torah obedience Exodus–Deuteronomy
David King, Psalmist Covenant, worship of Yahweh Samuel, Psalms
Jesus Messiah, Son of God Gospel, love, new covenant Gospels, Paul

None referred to their faith as "Islam" or themselves as "Muslim" by any credible pre-Islamic text.

Conclusion

The proposition that Islam, as a religious identity, existed prior to Muhammad is not supported by historical, textual, or archaeological evidence. All available sources point to Islam as a distinct, post-7th-century religious phenomenon.

  • No use of the term "Islam" or "Muslim" in any pre-Islamic scripture.

  • Shared rituals are universal, not uniquely Islamic.

  • Doctrinal substance of pre-Muhammad faiths is distinct from later Islamic teaching.

It is, therefore, both academically and theologically sound to affirm that Islam is a man-made religion that began with Muhammad, not a timeless faith existing since Adam.
To argue otherwise is to engage in retrospective reinterpretation, unsupported by the historical record.

ALLAH REVEALED THE BIBLE

THE QUESTION OF MUSLIMS TO CHRISTIANS: WHO WAS GIVEN THE BIBLE?

This is the question of Muslims, that the Bible is not the Book of God because they do not know who was given it.

Today I answer them using their Quran. According to the Quran given to Muhammad, it acknowledges as follows:

Surah Al-Ankabut 47 And thus We have sent down to you (O Muhammad) the Book (the Qur'an). So those We have given the Book (the Bible) will believe in it (the Qur'an), and among these (polytheists) are those who will believe in it. And they do not reject Our signs except as disbelievers. http://www.iium.edu.my/deed/quran/english/29.htm

ALLAH SAYS THAT HE REVEALED THE BIBLE AND GAVE IT TO THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK.

  1. Allah acknowledges that the Bible was revealed.

  2. Allah acknowledges that He gave the Bible to the People of the Book. It means the Bible was given to more than one person.

  3. Allah says that those who reject the Bible are disbelievers.

  4. Because the Bible was given to more than one person, this means the Bible is a collection of books.

QUESTION:
Who were those given the Bible?

Inside the Bible, there are the Torah, Psalms, and the Gospel, books that Muslims accept.

In Surah 3:3, it tells us the following:
"He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel."

Who was given the Torah?
Who was given the Psalms?
Who was given the Gospel?
How are the other books Allah revealed different?

Muslims, answer this question.

Shalom

Max Shimba, a slave of Jesus Christ the Great God. Titus 2:13

ALLAH SWORE BY JESUS CHRIST HIS LORD

First, let's learn the meaning of swearing so that we can understand why Allah swore by Jehovah.

What does it mean to swear?

Swearing, or taking an oath, means affirming, using the Name of Almighty God, that something being sworn to - and which has no clear evidence - is true and correct as claimed by the one taking the oath, and thus it must be believed that those claims are true because the Ultimate Guarantor is Almighty God, the Only Knower of the truth or falsehood of hidden matters!

In a Hadith narrated by Abdullah bin `Umar R.A.A. and reported by Al-Bukhari,
"Indeed, Allah prohibits you from swearing by your fathers. So whoever must swear should swear by Allah or be silent."

Now let's read about Allah, who is not Jehovah "Yahweh", who does He swear by?

Quran 91:1-7 Suratul Ash-Shams (The Sun)
By the sun and its brightness. And [by] the moon when it follows it. And [by] the day when it displays it. And [by] the night when it covers it. And [by] the sky and He who constructed it. And [by] the earth and He who spread it. And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it.

Quran 92:1-3 Suratul Al-Layl (The Night)
By the night when it covers. And [by] the day when it appears. And [by] He who created the male and female.

Here we see that Allah, worshipped by Muslims, swears by the sky and the one who built it, by the earth and the one who spread it.

Who is the Spreader of the earth and the Builder of the sky?

For Allah of Islam, swears by Him. Your answer is, God Jehovah created male and female, God Jehovah created Heaven and Earth, but Allah swears by the Creator of Heaven and Earth and by the Creator of male and female. Allah swears by Jehovah, the God of Christians.

Who created male and female?

QURAN 92:1-3

  1. By the night when it covers, 2 and by the day when it appears, 3. and by He who created the male and female...
When someone swears by another, is he a god or a human?

Who created them then? Because Allah swears by the Creator, and creating is a characteristic of God. So Allah did not create.

Who is this Creator of male and female whom Allah of Islam swears by?
Continue reading... from the Holy Bible…

Jeremiah 27:5 I have made the earth, the man and the beasts that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm; and I give them unto whom it seems meet unto me.

Now we read about Jehovah, the God of the Bible, that He is the one who created everything, including male and female whom Allah of Islam swears by. Therefore, Jehovah created male and female, and Allah of Islam swears by Him, so you yourself fill in who is God?

Can God swear by another? Keep getting knowledge…

Hebrews 6:13 When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself,

Jehovah says there is no one greater than Himself to swear by, but Allah in the Quran says that He swears by the one who created male and female.

So today we understand that the Creator is Jehovah and Allah swears by Jehovah, the God of the Bible and Christians.

God bless you abundantly

MUHAMMAD AND MUSLIMS ASTOUNDED AFTER REALIZING JESUS WAS NOT A MUSLIM

MUHAMMAD AND MUSLIMS ASTOUNDED AFTER REALIZING JESUS WAS NOT A MUSLIM

BIBLICAL AND QURANIC EVIDENCE:

Muslim believers have often claimed that Jesus was a Muslim. These claims have been made in their religious sermons without substantial evidence to support their claims.

Today, I will respond to these claims using the Bible and the Quran as follows:

JESUS NEVER DECLARED THE SHAHADA
According to Islamic law, for one to be a Muslim, they must declare the shahada. Jesus did not say the SHAHADA (La ilaha illallah), and there is no biblical or Quranic evidence that Jesus said the SHAHADA. Therefore, Jesus was not a Muslim.

JESUS DID NOT WORSHIP ALLAH
Jesus never prayed to or worshipped "Allah," but according to the Bible, Jesus prayed to His Father, John 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: The Quran and Islam acknowledge that Allah is not the Father, and there is not a single verse that calls Allah Father. Jesus was not a Muslim.

JESUS DID NOT PRAY FACING MECCA
Jesus never prostrated himself facing Mecca, a requirement in praying to or worshipping "ALLAH." Quran 2:149. Whencesoever thou comest forth turn thy face toward the Inviolable Place of Worship; and wheresoever ye may be (O Muslims) turn your faces toward it (when ye pray) so that men may have no argument against you save such of them as do injustice - Fear them not, but fear Me! - and so that I may complete My grace upon you, and that ye may be guided. 150. Whencesoever ye cometh forth turn your face toward the Inviolable Place of Worship. And wheresoever ye may be (O Muslims) turn your faces toward it so that people shall have no accusation against you, except such of them as do wrong; fear them not, but fear Me; and that I may complete My favor upon you, and that ye may be guided aright.

Now let's read about how Jesus prayed in the Bible. Where did He look while praying?
Jesus prayed looking up to Heaven. Read: Mark 6:41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
In the above verse, we have evidence that Jesus looked up to Heaven where His Father is, and not towards Mecca.

JESUS DID NOT TEACH ABOUT THE KAABA
Jesus never mentioned or taught His disciples about the "KAABA," which is done by Muslims and was taught by Muhammad, the prophet of Allah.

JESUS DID NOT FAST DURING RAMADAN
Jesus did not fast during Ramadan, which is part of Islam to fast during Ramadan every year. Quran 2:183, O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you, as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint.

There is not a single part in the Bible where we read that Jesus commanded His followers to fast every year, but we read that in Matthew 6:16-18: Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

JESUS DID NOT ENGAGE IN JIHAD
Jesus did not engage in Jihad as every Muslim is commanded to engage in Jihad. Quran 2:216. Warfare is ordained for you, though it is hateful unto you; but it may happen that ye hate a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that ye love a thing which is bad for you. Allah knoweth, ye know not.

But Jesus said the following about fighting: John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

In the above verse, Jesus teaches us that His Kingdom is not of this world but Heaven, so He cannot engage in Jihad as Allah commands Muslims. Jesus was not a Muslim, and He did not engage in Jihad.

JESUS SAID TO LOVE YOUR ENEMIES, WHILE ALLAH SAYS HATE CHRISTIANS AND JEWS
Jesus did not hate those who opposed Him, but He loved them and prayed for them, contrary to Allah's commands to Muslims. Read Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

Now let's see how Allah shows hatred towards His followers. Quran 5:51. O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.

JESUS DID NOT TEACH TO STONE ADULTERERS
Jesus did not stone people to death, nor did He teach that adulterers should be stoned, as is taught in the Islamic religion. Read John 8:6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

But in Islam, we read about Muhammad ordering the stoning of an adulterer: Volume 2, Book 23, Number 413: Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar:

A Jew brought to the Prophet two men who had committed sodomy with each other. The Prophet ordered both of them to be killed near the place of offering the funeral prayers beside the mosque.

Therefore, Jesus was not a Muslim, and He did not stone adulterers, but we read about Muhammad stoning people and teaching the stoning of adulterers in Islam.

JESUS DID NOT TEACH PEOPLE TO PERFORM ABLUTION BEFORE PRAYING
Jesus did not follow the ritual of washing or performing ablution before praying, as Muslims do every day. Read about Jesus in Matthew 15:2-11. But Allah practices the rituals of washing and ablution before worshipping Him. Quran 5:6. O ye who believe! When ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces, and your hands (and arms) to the elbows; Rub your heads (with water); and (wash) your feet to the ankles. If ye are in a state of ceremonial impurity, bathe your whole body. But if ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands, Allah doth not wish to place you in a difficulty, but to make you clean, and to complete His favor to you, that ye may be grateful.

Jesus did not perform ablution before praying to His Father as in Islam. Jesus was not a Muslim.

JESUS NEVER USED THE TERMS "SAW" OR "PBUH"
Jesus never told people to write abbreviations like "SAW" and "PBUH" after mentioning their names, unlike Allah and His Prophet, who teach to say so in Islam after mentioning the names of Prophets and Messengers.

Dear readers, today we have read about Jesus and His character and teachings, all of which contradict the laws and customs of Islam.

It is my hope that this publication will help you understand that Jesus did not follow Islamic customs and did not worship Allah.
God bless you all

Is Jesus Jehovah?

There are three verses from the Old Testament that show that Jesus—Messiah—will come and will be God in the flesh.

Isaiah 7:14 – “Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” “Immanuel” means “God with us.”

Matthew 1:21-23 – It makes it clear that Jesus is the Immanuel referred to, and He is truly God with us.

Isaiah 9:6 – “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

This verse clearly states that the Messiah, Jesus, will be a ruler, and not just a ruler but also “The mighty God.” And in Isaiah 10:21, Isaiah uses the same words to refer to Jehovah, “the mighty God.” Therefore, Isaiah through the Holy Spirit makes it clear that Jesus is “the mighty God.”

Micah 5:2 – “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”

Micah says the one who will come forth is “from of old,” that is, “from everlasting.” Only God is from everlasting, and if the one who will come forth is from everlasting, then He must be God.
Furthermore, the New Testament teaches us that Jesus is God!

John 1:1-4 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”

Here are other verses in the New Testament (John 1:14; 1 John 1:1 and Rev. 19:13) where the term “Word” is “Logos” in Greek, and in each place “Logos” is Jesus. And we can know John in John 1:1-4 is talking about Jesus because of John 1:14 when he said, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,” John said, “the Word was God,” (1:1).

Not only John taught that Jesus is God, even Paul taught that Jesus is God.
Romans 9:5 – “Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.”

Philippians 2:5-6 – “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:”

1 Timothy 3:16 – “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

Titus 2:13 – “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

Even Jesus Himself said He is God.
John 10:25-30 – “Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.”

The Jews understood Jesus' meaning when He called Himself God, “My Father,” (v. 25), said He has the power to give eternal life (v. 28), and when He said, “I and my Father are one!” (v. 30). We know the Jews understood Jesus was claiming to be God because they picked up stones to stone Him, saying, “Because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God,” (v. 33).

John 8:58 – “Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.” Here we see Jesus using the same words about Himself that Jehovah used in Exodus 3:14. And because of these words, the Jews wanted to stone Him.

John 14:8 – “Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.” Here we see Philip asking Jesus to show them the Father, but look at Jesus' response? Verse 9, “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father,” Verse 10, “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?” So Jesus made it clear whoever has seen Him has already seen the Father.

Furthermore, we know Jesus is God through His abilities.

  1. In Matthew 14:33, people worshipped Jesus, and Jesus accepted their worship. We know we should worship only God (John 4:24). In Revelation 22:8-9, an angel refused to be worshipped, Acts 10:25-26, humans refused to be worshipped. But Jesus accepted their worship, proving He is God.

2. In Mark 2:5-11, Jesus forgave sins. Only God has the power to forgive sins. So if Jesus forgives sins, it means He is God.

  1. In Matthew 28:18, Jesus taught He has all authority! Only God has all authority, so Jesus is God.
Again, Here the Father teaches Jesus is God!

Hebrews 1:8 – “But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom.” Here plainly we see the Father calling the Son, GOD!

Conclusion

If you recognize Jesus as God and follow His instructions, you will receive eternal life. So I ask everyone reading to recognize Jesus as the Apostle Thomas did in John 20:28,
“Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God!”

JESUS IS THE NAME OF GOD

JEHOVAH IS THE NAME OF GOD

Our God has revealed Himself in many names, which we will briefly look at today.

ADONAI: God Almighty, a strong refuge Genesis 15:2‐8, Exodus 6:2‐3

ELOHIM: Almighty God, eternal creator, powerful (Genesis 1: 1, 17:7, Jeremiah 31:33)

EL-ELOHE-ISREAL: God of Israel, Genesis 33:20

EL-OHEEKA: The Lord Thy God Exodus 20:2, 5, 7

EL-ELYONI: God Most High Genesis 14:18, Daniel 4:34

JEHOVAH EL-GIBBOR: Mighty God (Isaiah 9:6-9)

JEHOVAH EL-OHEENU: The Lord Our God (Psalm 99:5,8,9)

JEHOVAH EL-SHADDAI: God Almighty/God All-sufficient (Genesis 17:1)

JEHOVAH HOSEENU: The Lord our Maker Psalm 95:6

JEHOVAH-JIREH: God will provide (Genesis 22:14)

JE-SHUA (JESUS): God our Savior (Matthew 1:21)

This name of JESUS is the name we have until now. Through this name, we receive salvation, through this name we overcome the enemy, through this name, we receive blessings, and through this name, we live.
But the Bible also shows us that this name is not permanent. There will come a time when Christ will come with a new name, (Revelation 19:12) that name at that time will no longer be a name of Salvation, no longer a name of mercy, but it will be a royal name. That is why, during this time when grace still exists, do not let it pass you by if you are still in sin, today Christ is still here as the high priest reconciling us to God, meaning that the door of mercy is still open to anyone who wants to enter it, But it will not always be open. For the signs of the second coming of Jesus have all been fulfilled, all we are waiting for is the rapture.

PROOF 19 JESUS IS JEHOVAH THE GREAT GOD

What different names of God mean?

ANSWER

Each of the many names of God describes a different aspect of His many attributes. Here are some of the most well-known names of God in the Bible:

EL, ELOAH: God "mighty, strong, prominent" (Genesis 7:1; Isaiah 9:6) — etymologically, El appears to mean "power," as in "I have the power to harm you" (Genesis 31:29). El is associated with other qualities, such as faithfulness (Numbers 23:19), jealousy (Deuteronomy 5:9), and mercy (Nehemiah 9:31), but the root idea of power remains.

ELOHIM: God "Creator, Mighty and Strong" (Genesis 17:7; Jeremiah 31:33) — the plural form of Eloah, which accommodates the doctrine of the Trinity. From the very first sentence of the Bible, the superlative nature of God's power is evident as God (Elohim) speaks the world into existence (Genesis 1:1).

EL SHADDAI: "God Almighty," "The Mighty One of Jacob" (Genesis 49:24; Psalm 132:2,5) — speaks to God’s ultimate power over all.

ADONAI: "Lord" (Genesis 15:2; Judges 6:15) — used in place of YHWH, which was thought by the Jews to be too sacred to be uttered by sinful men. In the Old Testament, YHWH is often used in the act of God’s covenant with His people, while Adonai is more used when dealing with the nations.

YHWH / YAHWEH / JEHOVAH: "LORD" (Deuteronomy 6:4; Daniel 9:14) — the only proper name of God. Translated in English Bibles "LORD" (all capitals) to distinguish it from Adonai, "Lord." The revelation of the name came first to Moses "I AM WHO I AM" (Exodus 3:14). This name specifies an immediacy, a presence. Yahweh is present, accessible, near to those who call on Him for deliverance (Psalm 107:13), forgiveness (Psalm 25:11), and guidance (Psalm 31:3).

YAHWEH-JIREH: "The Lord Will Provide" (Genesis 22:14) — the name memorialized by Abraham when God provided the ram to be sacrificed in place of Isaac.

YAHWEH-RAPHA: "The Lord Who Heals" (Exodus 15:26) — "I am Yahweh who heals you" both in body and soul. In body, by preserving and restoring health, and in soul, by forgiving sin.

YAHWEH-NISSI: "The Lord Our Banner" (Exodus 17:15), where banner is understood to be a rallying place. This name commemorates the desert victory over the Amalekites in Exodus 17.

AHWEH-M'KADDESHY: "The Lord Who Sanctifies You" (Leviticus 20:8; Ezekiel 37:28) — God makes it clear that He alone, not the law, can purify His people and make them holy.

YAHWEH-SHALOM: "The Lord Is Peace" (Judges 6:24) — the name Gideon gave to the altar he built after the Angel of the Lord assured him he would not die as he thought he would.

YAHWEH-ELOHIM: "LORD God" (Genesis 2:4; Psalm 59:5) — a combination of God's unique name YHWH and the usual word for "Lord," signifying that He is the Lord of Lords.

YAHWEH-TSIDKENU: "The Lord Our Righteousness" (Jeremiah 33:16) — As with YHWH-M'Kaddesh, it is God alone who provides righteousness for man, ultimately in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, who became sin for us "that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:21).

YAHWEH-ROHI: "The Lord Our Shepherd" (Psalm 23:1) — After David thoughtfully considers his relationship as a shepherd to his sheep, he realized that it was a true relationship with God, and thus says, "Yahweh-Rohi is my Shepherd. I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1).

YAHWEH-SHAMMAH: "The Lord Is There" (Ezekiel 48:35) — a name ascribed to Jerusalem and the Temple there, indicating that the glory of the Lord, once departed (Ezekiel 8-11), had returned (Ezekiel 44:1-4).

YAHWEH-SABAOTH: "The Lord of Hosts" (Isaiah 1:24; Psalm 46:7) — Hosts meaning "armies," both of angels and of men. He is the Hosts of heaven and of the inhabitants of the earth, Jews and Gentiles, rich and poor, master and slave. The name bespeaks authority, power, and an ability to accomplish what He determines to do.

EL ELYON: "Most High" (Deuteronomy 26:19) — derived from the Hebrew root for "go up" or "ascend," so the implication is of that which is the very highest. El Elyon denotes exalted or towering height and speaks of the absolute rightness of God’s sovereignty.

EL ROI: "God of Seeing" (Genesis 16:13) — a name for God memorialized by Hagar, alone and desperate in the wilderness after being driven out by Sarah (Genesis 16:1-14). When Hagar encountered the Angel of the Lord, she realized that she had seen God Himself in a theophany. She also realized that El Roi saw her in her distress and testified that He is a God who lives and sees all.

EL-OLAM: "God of Eternity" (Psalm 90:1-3) — God’s existence is without beginning or end, without constraints of time, and He contains within Himself the cause of time itself. "From everlasting to everlasting, You are God."

EL-GIBBOR: "Mighty God" (Isaiah 9:6) — a name applied to the Messiah, Jesus Christ, in this portion of Isaiah's prophecy. As a mighty and victorious warrior, the Messiah, God the Mighty One, is able to accomplish the destruction of God’s enemies and to lead and protect His own with a “rod of iron” (Revelation 19:15).

ALLAH IS NOT JEHOVAH YAHWEH ( يهوه ) AND DOESN'T HAVE A SPECIFIC NAME

ALLAH IS NOT JEHOVAH YAHWEH ( يهوه ) AND DOESN'T HAVE A SPECIFIC NAME

This is another disaster for Muslims and for Muhammad.

Allah in Surah Bani Israil says that he has beautiful names and says that Allah is a Name and not an Attribute. When I carefully examined his 99 names, I did not see the name Allah among those 99. Even if we include it, then Allah would have 100 names and not 99. This is another disaster for Muslims.

How many names does Allah have, 99 or 100?

NOW LET'S READ ABOUT THE GOD OF THE BIBLE:
The God known as
Exodus 6:2-3,

And God spoke to Moses and said to him, "I am the LORD;

And I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name LORD I was not known to them.

Do you see the difference between Allah and Jehovah in the Bible? Jehovah doesn't beat around the bush like Allah, who says He has beautiful names but fails to prove that JEHOVAH is His name.

God said to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob 2668 years before Muhammad that His name is JEHOVAH, BUT ALLAH never said in the Quran that Jehovah is His name. THEREFORE ALLAH IS NOT THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB.

Now, between the Almighty God who said in the Torah 2668 years before Muhammad that His name is JEHOVAH, AND Allah who failed to prove that He is Jehovah beyond saying He has beautiful names, whom should we believe?

Remember, in the Old Testament alone, the NAME Jehovah is mentioned 6800 times, while in the Quran the name JEHOVAH is NOT mentioned even once.

ALLAH CLAIMS THAT THE QURAN CONFIRMS THE TORAH, THE GOSPEL, AND THE PSALMS. ISN'T IT?

LET'S READ THAT VERSE FIRST.

Surah Al-Baqara 89. And when there came to them a Book from Allah confirming that which was with them — although before they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieved — but [then] when there came to them that which they recognized, they disbelieved in it; so the curse of Allah will be upon the disbelievers.

Read more testimonies:

Surah Al-Ma'ida 48. And We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. To each of you We prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ.

NOW, IF IT IS TRUE THAT THE QURAN CONFIRMS THE TORAH, PSALMS, AND GOSPEL,

  1. Why is there no Name Jehovah in the Quran?

  2. Why did Allah not say He is Jehovah to Muhammad?

  3. Why did Muhammad not ask Allah about this name Jehovah mentioned in the Torah, Psalms, and Gospel?

  4. Prove that Allah is a name with evidence from the verses. Thus, Allah has 100 names and not 99.

Dear reader, it is very easy to catch Allah in His lie, because He claimed that the Quran confirms the Torah, Psalms, and Gospel, YET HE FAILED to prove that He is JEHOVAH.

Therefore, Allah is not Jehovah, and the Quran does not confirm the Torah, Psalms, and Gospel.

Based on the evidence above, I can say that ALLAH IS NOT GOD, ALLAH IS NOT JEHOVAH, MUHAMMAD IS A FALSE PROPHET, AND THE QURAN IS A FALSE BOOK FILLED WITH DOUBTS.

If any Muslim disputes, then prove the following:

  1. Show me the Name Jehovah in the Quran.

  2. Show me the Name Yahuh in the Quran.

  3. Bring me a verse where Allah confirms that He is Jehovah, as He claimed that the Quran confirms the Torah, Psalms, and Gospel in Surah Al-Ma'ida 48.

  4. Prove that Allah is a name with evidence from the verses. Thus, Allah has 100 names and not 99.

It is I, Max Shimba, a Servant of Jesus Christ the Almighty God.

CHRISTIANITY IS NOT A RELIGION BUT A FAITH WITH FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD

Dear reader,

Often in Islamic lectures, Christianity is derided, claiming that Islam is the religion of Allah and Christianity is not a religion. These statements have deeply hurt Christians, especially when they are asked to provide a verse from the Bible that says Christianity is a religion.

My dear friends, today I would like to address this weak and unfounded accusation against Christianity and the false claim that God has a religion.

WHAT IS THE ORIGIN OF THE WORD CHRISTIANITY?
The word Christianity derives from the name "Christ." Therefore, a Christian is a follower of Christ. It's like saying a Tanzanian comes from Tanzania or the term Tanzanian derives from the union of "U" and "Tanzania."

The goal of a Christian is to seek close fellowship with God. This fellowship is made possible by the work of Jesus and the presence of the Holy Spirit in a Christian's life.

The Holy God has no fellowship with sin and does not have a religion. Between Him and man, there is a great divide of sin. Man tries to reach God through many ways: RELIGION, good deeds, prayer, etc., but these are all insufficient. Man remains sinful.

WHAT DOES CHRISTIANITY MEAN?
Christianity is a unique faith compared to others because it focuses more on fellowship with God rather than religious acts. Contrary to adhering to a list of dos and don'ts, the goal of a Christian is to seek a close relationship with God the Father.

Christians believe that the Bible is the Word of God and its teachings are the final authority (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21). Christians believe in one God existing in the Trinity: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

WHAT DOES RELIGION MEAN?
Religion is man's attempt to have a relationship with a Holy God despite being sinful. The Christian faith is a relationship with God because of what He has done for us through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

CHRISTIANITY IS NOT A RELIGION BUT A UNIQUE FAITH THAT FOCUSES MORE ON FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD THAN RELIGIOUS ACTS THAT CANNOT LEAD TO HEAVEN.

There is only one way to fellowship with God.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO REMOVE SIN.
He died for us so that we may know God's love and plan for our lives.

WHAT IS TRUE FAITH?
True faith is not about focusing on laws but on principles. True faith is a relationship with God. Two things that all religions acknowledge are that man, in some way, is separated from God and needs to be reconciled with Him.

False religions seek to solve this problem by keeping laws or rules. True faith solves the problem by recognizing that only God can fix the separation, and He already has. True faith recognizes the following:

• All have sinned and are separated from God (Romans 3:23).
• If not remedied, the just penalty for sin is death and eternal separation from God after death (Romans 6:23).
• God came to us through Jesus Christ, died for us, took the penalty we deserved, and rose from the dead to prove that His death was a sufficient sacrifice (Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
• If we receive Jesus as our Savior, believing His death as the full payment for our sins, we are forgiven, saved, redeemed, reconciled, and made righteous with God (John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9).

Therefore, while other religions require their followers to perform or abstain from certain acts, Christianity is about having fellowship with God.

Thus, Christianity is the followership of Christ, who is God. Jesus Christ is God.
