Indonesian police have named a controversial hardline Muslim preacher as a suspect in a pornography case.
Rizieq Shihab is accused of exchanging graphic messages and nude pictures in text conversations with a woman.
The cleric, who is currently in Saudi Arabia, has denied the accusations.
Mr Rizieq heads the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), which led mass protests against Jakarta's former governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama who was jailed for blasphemy last month.
Known for his fiery rhetoric, Mr Rizieq has been jailed twice for violence and disrupting public order.
In this latest case, Mr Rizieq is accused of violating Indonesia's strict anti-pornography laws by transmitting pornography to activist Firza Husein, who has also been named as a suspect.
Screenshots of what appeared to be text and picture messages between the two of them began circulating online earlier this year.

It's being seen by many as the height of hypocrisy. This is a man whose group's core battleground has been against sexual promiscuity, prostitution and alcohol.
His group campaigned for the very laws that their leader is now being charged under, the controversial anti-pornography laws.
To his supporters, Rizieq Shihab is a hero who embodies the true face of Islam. Now he is being charged with transmitting pornographic content with a woman who is not his wife.
Some legal experts have questioned why the police are pursuing this particular case. He faces six other charges including defaming the country's founding principles and first president, and blasphemy against Catholicism for questioning whether Jesus was really the son of God.
Police have repeatedly summoned Mr Rizieq for questioning since April, but he has yet to report to them. The preacher has been in Saudi Arabia with his family since late April.
An FPI spokesman told Reuters that the legal complaints were "unfounded" and "engineered to criminalise" clerics.
Mr Rizieq's lawyer has also said the allegations were fabricated by supporters of Mr Purnama, also known as Ahok.
Mr Rizieq is known to be a vocal opponent of Mr Purnama.
He and the FPI campaigned for months last year against Mr Purnama, a Christian and ethnic Chinese, claiming that he could not lead Muslims.
When Mr Purnama addressed these claims in a speech while campaigning for Jakarta's mayoral election, he was accused of insulting Islam, prompting even larger protests.
He was subsequently tried and found guilty of blasphemy.
A court in Saudi Arabia has upheld a death sentence for a disabled man who was arrested after he attended a protest, campaigners have said.
Munir al-Adam, 23, was beaten so badly he lost hearing in one ear during demonstrations in the Shia dominated east of the country in 2012.
Human rights campaigners have slammed the decision, calling it “shocking” and demanding the White House intervenes.
US commerce secretary praises lack of protest in Saudi Arabia, where it is punishable by death
Mr Adam was sentenced to death in a secretive trial in the country’s Specialised Criminal Court last year. Now, an appellate court has decided the sentence should be carried out, despite international criticism.
Mr Adam only has the opportunity to appeal the decision once more before King “Munir’s case is utterly shocking – the White House should be appalled that our Saudi allies tortured a disabled protester until he lost his hearing then sentenced him to death on the basis of a forced ‘confession’,” said Maya Foa, the director of Reprieve, a legal justice charity.
Mr Adam was tortured by police, despite his medical records detailing his disabilities, and forced to sign a false confession, campaigners said. He already suffered impaired vision and hearing, which stem from a skull fracture after a a childhood accident.
He was charged with violent acts at a protest, a Reprieve spokesman told The Independent, but no evidence was produced at his trial other than the signed confession – made under duress, activists say.
The authorities accused Mr Adam of “sending texts” but the manual worker was apparently too poor to own a phone.
The decision comes after a recent visit by President Trump to the Gulf state, which is one of the world’s most prolific executioners and notorious for its human rights abuses. Previous administrations have raised the issue of rights with Saudi leaders, but campaigners believe Mr Trump’s failure to do so may have emboldened the state to proceed with controversial decisions.
Ms Foa said: “Today’s judgment shows that, by failing to raise human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia, President Trump has emboldened the Kingdom to continue the torture and execution of protesters.
“The Trump administration must now urgently stand up for American values. They must call for the release of Munir, and all others who face execution for simply exercising freedom of expression.”
Saudi Arabia will begin imposing a 100 percent tax on cigarettes and energy drinks and 50 percent on soft drinks in two weeks' time, making it the first Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) country to impose excise tax known as "sin tax".
The announcement, published in the Saudi Gazette, was made by the General Authority of Zakat and Tax based on a GCC decision taken on 23 May. The tax will come into effect on June 10.
The Zakat Authority is responsible for collecting VAT and ST, ensuring that all taxpayers comply with relevant laws and that no one evades taxes. It applies international standards for tax collection and uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure precision and accuracy, the Saudi Gazette reported.
Registered traders, importers and businessmen who do not present a tax declaration to the authority will be fined between five percent and 25 percent of the tax value.
According to a report by the al-Eqtesadiyah business newspaper, the tax authority expects to earn seven billion Saudi Riyals ($1.87 billion) in excise tax revenues within a six-month period.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia have publicly announced their plans to start implementing VAT from January next year.
"VAT is being introduced to achieve economic diversification in preparation for the post-oil era," UAE finance minister Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum said last week.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimates VAT will raise about 1.5 percent of GDP in the GCC region.
Although the implementation date is 1 January 2018, there is a long-stop option which requires full implementation by 1 January 2019. https://www.alaraby.co.uk/english/society/2017/5/29/saudi-arabia-will-impose-a-sin-tax-this-ramadan
Days after President Trump publicly scolded Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas over payments to terrorists and their families, members of a top Knesset panel learned the amount that has been doled out over the last four years: a staggering $1.2 billion.
The PA claims the money is a social welfare benefit, but Yossi Kuperwasser, former director general of the Ministry of Strategic Affairs and ex-head of the army’s intelligence and research division, said that’s false, pointing to Palestinian budgetary documents, which, “clearly state that these are salaries and not welfare payments,” he said, The Times of Israel reports.
Setting out the figures, Brig.-Gen (res.) Yossi Kuperwasser told the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that the longer the period for which a Palestinian security prisoner is jailed, “the higher the salary… Anyone who has sat in prison for more than 30 years gets NIS 12,000 ($3,360) per month,” said Kuperwasser, according to the (Hebrew) NRG website. “When they’re released, they get a grant and are promised a job at the Palestinian Authority. They get a military rank that’s determined according to the number of years they’ve served in jail.” […]
At the Knesset meeting on Monday, Kuperwasser, today a project director at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs think tank, said that for many years the US and Israel had largely ignored the significance of the payments and that it only became a major issue in the last six months. Now the US Congress is pushing punitive legislation — the Taylor Force Act. The PA channels the payments indirectly, via a non-government “payment fund,” he said.
“There was a willingness to believe the lies that it was social support. In practice, no steps have been taken to change the situation and in the meantime, the Palestinians are trying to depict themselves as supporting peace while they are still paying the families of terrorists,” he said, reports the Times. “Assurance of a cash prize for acts of terror is encouragement to terrorism, and is against international law, international conventions, the Oslo accords, and other agreements that they have signed on.”
According to the Middle East Media Research Institute, terrorists and their families are paid anywhere between $364 per month for up to three years to $3,120 per month for 30 years or more.
Trump said during a joint press conference with Abbas that “Peace can never take root in an environment where violence is tolerated, funded, or rewarded.” https://townhall.com/tipsheet/leahbarkoukis/2017/05/30/palestinians-paid-terrorists-n2333344
As the mercury hovers around the 43 degrees Celsius mark and the fasting month of Ramazan now underway, health experts have urged the people to avoid going outside during the day when the temperature is high.
They stated that the ongoing heat wave, which has already seen Turbat break its record for the highest temperature, could lead to serious problems for people venturing outdoors such as heat stroke among adults apart from diarrhoea among children.
“We have been receiving a large number of patients with heat stroke and diarrhoea and children seriously need to be protected against the heat wave,” Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Medical Director Dr Khalid Masood said, adding that the majority of heat wave victims they receive were children.
On Monday night, a large number of people were observed carrying their children to the LRH accident and emergency department. Some faced other problems but most of the children had been brought to the facility seeking treatment for diarrhoea.
“Yes they were exposed to sunlight but it [diarrhoea] happened due to suffocation since the power supply had been suspended for hours in our neighbourhood,” said 44-year Rahimullah Shah, a resident of Jamil Chowk area who had brought his two children to LRH immediately after Iftar.
Shah stated that he was at work when he received a call from his home that his four-year-old twins Naeem and Saleem were both vomiting. He added that the children were first rushed to a local dispenser who suggested that the children had diarrhoea and required treatment available at the LRH.
The experts added that parents must avoid giving juices to their children since it can possibly cause diarrhoea since the quality of all the additives is not known. However, juicy fruits should be provided to kids while adults should also increase their liquid intake along with dates at Sehr and Iftar.
“Date should be permanently available since it provides you glucose for a long time and usually it is the glucose level which drops down and leading to serious problems,” Dr Masood said.
He added that pregnant women should ensure maximum intake of liquids and dates while both men and women must have yoghurt and milk at Sehri and Iftari.
Dr Masood though urged people to stay away from roasted food items such as chicken, karahi and other oily items.

A Kuwaiti appeals court on Wednesday sentenced the men to death, the victim's lawyer Ibrahim al-Bathani said.
He told AFP that the court overturned a 10-year jail term handed in April by a lower court against the seven accused.
The victim is a Kuwaiti citizen and has a partial mental disability, Bathani said.
'This is a historic verdict,' he added.
Prosecutors found the sickening videos on the phones of some of the defendants.
Remember the Igbo National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Chukwuma Austin Dike, who converted to Islam from Christianity because Buhari won the presidential election? He has renounced Islam! According to him, he is renouncing Islam and rededicating his life back to Jesus because he realized he is not safe with the religion. According to him, Muslims in Nigeria are tribalistic and he has escaped about seven assassination attempts in the hands of Muslims.
The Action Group for the Palestinians in Syria (AGPS) said on Wednesday that 3,502 Palestinian refugees were killed in Syria due to the civil war that has been ongoing since 2011.
A report published by the AGPS on Wednesday evening pointed out that 1,141 Palestinian refugees died by shelling, 873 died in the clashes between the Syrian regime army and the Syrian opposition's armed groups while 462 died under torture in the Syrian regime prisons without pointing to the death circumstances of the rest of the refugees.
The AGPS is a London-based group that was founded in 2012 through a collective initiative by Palestinian and Arab figures.
The group follows up and documents the violations against the Palestinians of Syria, according to its official website.
According to UN estimates, 450,000 Palestinian refugees still live in Syria, 95% of whom need assistance.
