Malaysian: A faithful Muslim Man Rapes Daughter 600 Times…

We’re honestly speechless from how horrible this case is.  According to the New Straits Times, a 37-year-old man from Shah Alam is expected to be charged in the Special Court on Child Sexual Crimes in Putrajaya today for allegedly raping and sodomising his own daugther 600 times.  The man reportedly committed these crimes over the past two years and has been under police custody since 26th July. It was reported that he began raping and sodomising his daughter since his divorce, when she came under his custody while her two younger sisters, aged 9 and 11, went under her mother’s custody. 

The daughter decided to tell her mother about her traumatic experience when she learnt that her father was trying to gain custody of her sisters. 

Each count of sodomy carries a minimum five-year jail sentence and whipping. For rape, the suspect can face a minimum of eight years in jail and at least 10 strokes of the rotan.  This means that he could face at least 3,000 years in prison including whipping for 599 counts of sodomy and one count of rape.

Source: New Straits Times “The suspect will be charged tomorrow with 599 counts of committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent, and one count under Section 376A of the Penal Code for rape,” said Selangor Criminal Investigation Department Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat. “He will also face 30 counts under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 (physical sexual assault without sexual intercourse), as well as a count each under Section 31(1)(a) and Section 31(1)(b) of the Children’s Act.” The suspect’s fate will be determined in court today. If found guilty, let’s hope he gets put behind bars for the rest of his life.

A muslim Wife Has Only Nine Toes & Fingers Left After 17 Years of Torture…

A 35-year-old woman in the eastern province of Van, who was subjected to brutal torture at the hands of her husband over 17 years, has filed a criminal complaint against him at the public prosecutor’s office. 

Gülfidan Sepil, who had to have 11 fingers and toes amputated as a result of the torture carried out by her husband, also applied to the women’s organization Yaka-Koop based in Van regarding her case. 

One of the activists at Yaka-Koop, Gülmay Gümüşhan, said she had never seen such a severe case in 15 years of working on cases of violence against women. 

“When I saw Gülfidan, I was lost for words. Can any person be brought to such a state? We, as Yaka-Koop, will keep following Gülfidan’s case, together with voluntary lawyers Helin Özgökçe and Deniz Işık. We demand that this man [the husband] gets the severest punishment,” Gümüşhan said. 

Gülfidan Sepil, from the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa, married Tayfur Çeliktop, from the southeastern province of Gaziantep, 17 years ago in an arranged marriage when she was 18 years old. Following their marriage, the couple settled in Ankara’s Dikmen district, where they tried to scratch a living buying, selling and dealing in junk.

Sepil, who had five children over the course of the marriage, started being subjected to her husband’s torture shortly after they married. She complained repeatedly to the police regarding the violence but they reportedly did not take any action. 

“He [the husband] was beating me constantly. Five months ago he tied my fingers and hands, and electrocuted me. He also hit my head with a hard object and I fainted. After that he got scared and called his mother and his family. They brought me to Gaziantep and checked me into a private hospital. Due to the results of the torture I was exposed to, doctors had to amputate 11 of my fingers and toes,” Sepil said. 

After she left hospital, she was subjected to death threats from her husband, who at one point even aimed a gun at her. Threatening her not to inform the authorities of the torture, she went back to Ankara to live with her husband and children.

The beatings continued once she moved back to Ankara, and Sepil was even once tied up in a room for a number of months. After this she managed to escape to return to Van, where she took shelter in her brother’s house. 

“I now want my husband to live a dog’s life. I want him to pay for his crimes. I’ve filed a criminal complaint. If he go to prison, I will look after my children,” Sepil said

Well-Known Islamic Teacher Charged with Molestation…

KUALA LUMPUR: A well-known Islamic religious preacher from Iraq is being investigated for allegedly molesting a young woman he met through social media.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Asst Commissioner Rusdi Mohd Isa was quoted by The Star as saying the man, said to be a familiar face in major religious events, was arrested last Friday.

The preacher, who has Malaysian permanent resident status, was arrested after the father of the woman lodged a police report against him. He was released on police bail on Tuesday.

The woman, in her 20s, from Penang, reportedly got to know the preacher through Facebook on July 15. On July 24, she travelled to Kuala Lumpur to meet him, according to the report.

The Star reported that she was not his first victim. The preacher had allegedly used his position as an ulama to lure other women, through Facebook, with religious talks.

According to the report, he would first ask for their photos, saying he wanted to check whether they had any physical or spiritual illnesses. After about two weeks, he would ask them to meet him at the Federal Territory Mosque, ostensibly to gain “blessings”.

After congregational prayers, he would allegedly take the women to a luxury Arab restaurant in Sri Hartamas before taking them home.

The report said he was also fond of quoting verses from the Quran and the Hadith (traditions and sayings of Prophet Muhammad) to influence the women.

Muslim countries have highest rates of suicide, murder, rape and mental health problems

Suicide, murder, rape and mental health conditions are skyrocketing in a stretch of Muslim-majority countries from Morocco to Pakistan, many of which have been wracked by violence and conflict.

A major study covering data  from the last 25 years shows soaring rates of death by suicide  or at the hands of others. In 2015 alone, the last year for which data was used, around 30,000 people committed suicide, while 35,000 were murdered. The figures do not include deaths in places which are at war, such as  Syria and Iraq, and represent increases of 100 per cent and 152 per cent respectively since 1990.

The study was conducted by researchers at the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). 

"In other parts of the world during the same period, the number of deaths from suicide increased 19 percent and interpersonal violence by 12 percent,” stated one of the 15 reports published this week in the International Journal of Public Health.

The researchers also found a “sharp increase” in mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. “Depression and anxiety disorders were the most common mental conditions,” according to the study. 

“Intractable and endemic violence is creating a lost generation of children and young adults,” said Dr Ali Mokdad, the study’s lead author and the Director for Middle Eastern Initiatives at IHME. “The future of the Middle East is grim unless we can find a way to bring stability to the region.”

The research showed that the wars in Yemen, Iraq and Syria in particular are taking a severe toll on the health of the population in those countries. Not only are the effects immediate in terms of death and injury, but “these events will lead to increased health burden in the future as the next generation…is being raised under the harsh conditions of malnutrition and lack of preventive health services.” 

Yemen has the highest proportion of its population suffering from food insecurity,at 36 per cent.  

Despite the fast increasing need for mental health professionals to address the psychological fallout of conflict and poverty, the region has very few psychiatrists and psychologists. Many of the countries have only 0.5 psychiatrists for every 100,000 people. By comparison, Europe has more than  40 per 100,000. 

The study was conducted using estimates from the annual Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors study and focused on the 600 million people of the “Eastern Mediterranean”, which  includes 22 countries from the Maghreb, Horn of Africa, the Middle East — including the GCC — and Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The geographical  area has endured, to varying degrees, conflict for decades.An estimated 208,179 people were estimated to have been killed by war, suicide and murder in 2015, of which  144,000 died in war.  Such estimates are almost always below the true figures due to the difficulties of collecting reliable data in war zones.

But violence and the associated psychological disorders are not the only alarming findings about the region’s health trends. 

“In recent years, many of the health gains for some countries have slowed and several health conditions that were under control are re-emerging," Dr Mokdad said. “This study clearly indicates that the future health of the region is in danger.”

Even the wealthiest per capita countries of the GCC will be affected directly or indirectly by the impact of global warming and climate change. Some of the countries “face significant environmental challenges due to lack of water, rising temperatures, and sandstorms,” the study found.  Air pollution also needs to be addressed.  

In the UAE, Qatar and Oman, transport-related accidents were the second highest cause of death in 2015, at 14 per cent, 20 per cent and 16 per cent respectively. While such deaths are falling in all the countries except Libya, Pakistan and Egypt, they were doing so at a slower rate than elsewhere in the world. 

The overall level of obesity  in the Eastern Mediterranean  has increased by 37 per cent since 1980, the study, but obesity is most prevalent in Qatar and Kuwait. 

Child mortality also fell more slowly than the global rate in many of the 22 countries. Sudan, Pakistan and Afghanistan are all in the top ten countries with the highest child mortality rates. Eighty per cent of all child deaths occurred in those three countries along with Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen. 

The study also found that most of the cases responsible for a tenfold increase in HIV and Aids-related deaths in the last 25 years occurred in three Horn of Africa countries — Djibouti, Somalia and Sudan.  

"In this region, individuals infected with HIV are dying faster than the rest of the world,"said Charbel El Bcheraoui, assistant professor at IHME. ”This is a sign that HIV patients are not receiving proper treatment in an era where HIV can be well controlled with the appropriate treatment regimens."

The countries studied are: Afghanistan,  Egypt, Bahrain, Djibouti, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and the UAE.

Man Burned Alive for 'Stealing' from Mosque was Wrongly Accused…

Last week, a man in Indonesia was beaten up by a group of people, and was then burned alive by the crowd after being accused of stealing three sets of loudspeakers from a mosque.

The incident, which happened in Babelan, Kabupaten Bekasi, Jawa Barat, took place right after prayer, when the deceased was accused of stealing. He then was chased down by the locals in the area, and they even burned the man alive.

But, it was then revealed that the man did not steal the speakers, instead it had originally belonged to him.

As revealed by Tribunnews, the man was accused of stealing after he brought his speakers into the mosque. He did that because he did not want the speakers to be stolen.

After the prayers, he took the speakers and went to his motorcycle, but was then accussed of stealing the speakers.

The man was a TV repairman, and the reason he brought the speaker was due to him being on his way to deliver the speakers to his boss' house.

The man left behind a wife who is seven months pregnant, and one 5 year old child.

His wife then shared on her Facebook her regrets for her child, for not being able to see his father.

She also said that her husband is not a thief even though they are poor, and she forgives the people who murdered her husband, and hopes that god forgives them too.

It is also understood that now Ustaz Anshari Taslim is now taking donations for the man's family to help them move on from this tragedy.

Pew Poll: Muslim Women More Anti-American than Muslim Men…

According to a new Pew Research Center survey, 57% of Muslim women than men believe it has become more difficult to be Muslim in the US in recent years, compared with only 43% of Muslim men.

Also, only 52% of Muslim women say they have a lot in common with most Americans and 44% of them view the American people as friendly toward Muslim Americans – while two-thirds of Muslim men make those same two observations.

Faithful Muslims Give Daughters to Boko Haram for Suicide Missions…

Parents in the northeast of Nigeria are giving their daughters to Boko Haram terrorists for indoctrination and suicide bombing missions, the country’s military said.

Some arrested female suicide bombers have testified that “minors were donated to the terrorists sect’’ by their parents and guardians, as part of their contribution to the Boko Haram insurgency, spokesman Sani Usman said in a statement Sunday on the Nigerian Army’s website. Authorities are appealing to religious and community leaders to help stop the practice, he said.

Boko Haram’s insurgency, aimed at imposing its version of Islamic law in Africa’s most populous country, has killed tens of thousands since 2009 and forced about 2 million people to flee their homes. The militants use female suicide bombers to carry out some attacks on sites including mosques, markets, bus terminals and internally displaced persons camps in the northeast of the country.

At least 11 killed in 'barbaric' Nigeria church shooting

Warri (Nigeria) (AFP) - At least 11 worshippers were shot dead at a church in southeast Nigeria on Sunday, with authorities suggesting the bloodshed was due to a local feud.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari condemned the attack, describing the incident as "an appalling crime against humanity and unspeakable sacrilege," his office said.

Buhari said "there was no justification whatsoever to target church worshippers and kill them in cold blood."

At around 6:00 am (0500 GMT) at least one gunman opened fire at Saint Philip's church in Ozubulu, near the city of Onitsha, unleashing terror on the congregation.

Chukwuma Emeka said he had just stepped out of the church to stretch his legs "when I heard gunshots and screaming and people running inside."

"When the chaos subsided I went inside, I saw my fellow church members dead in a pool of their own blood and many others were screaming in pain."

Attacks on churches are rare in southern Nigeria, where there is a predominantly Christian population.

The country's mainly-Muslim north has been gripped by a violent campaign by Boko Haram jihadists, who specialise in targeting religious centres.

There were varying accounts of what happened in Ozubulu. Witnesses said five gunmen in masks stormed the church, but police said the killing was the work of a lone shooter.

"So far, 12 persons have been confirmed dead and deposited in the mortuary here," a worker at Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital told AFP.

Garba Umar, Anambra State police Commissioner, later said 11 people were killed while 18 were injured as a result of the shooting.

Several worshippers with gunshot wounds were also receiving treatment at the hospital, the source said. Witnesses said they feared that up to 20 people may have died.

- 'Feud' -

Umar said the attacker was a gunman who "went on a shooting spree, killing and wounding" worshippers.

He said the violence was the result of a failed murder attempt, tied to a feud within the local community.

"The information at the disposal of the police is that the gunman had been hired to kill a particular family person believed to be among the worshippers," he said.

He said the governor of the state visited the scene and promised to pay the medical bills of the injured.

Local rights activist Emeka Umeagbalasi said his information about the motive largely concurred with that of the police version.

The gunmen had gone to kill the son of a local chief but failed to find him at his home, Umeagbalasi said.

The attackers then went to the church to hunt for him, but could not find the intended target and became angry, he said.

They opened "fire on parishioners and shot indiscriminately," he said, adding that the father of the intended target was shot and wounded.

Speaker of Nigeria's House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara called the attack "barbaric... the height of wickedness."

He extended his condolences to families of the victims, assuring them that the government would do everything within its power to track down those responsible.

Hundreds of churches and mosques in Nigeria's north have been attacked since 2009 when Boko Haram began a violent campaign to impose strict Islamic law.

The rebellion has killed at least 20,000 people and forced some 2.6 million others to flee their homes, sparking a dire humanitarian crisis in the northeast.
