SURAH 4:136 – ALLAH WARNS MUSLIMS WHO REJECT THE BIBLE

 

Muslims openly deny the Bible. They claim that the Bible which we have in our possession today is no longer the authentic Word of God. And they boldly declare that the Bible has become corrupted. However, it may come as a surprise for Muslims to learn that by denying the Bible, they are actually taking a stand against Allah. According to the Qur’an, Muslims cannot reject the Bible and still be a Muslim. Allah commands Muslims to unconditionally believe in all the sacred Scriptures which he revealed to mankind. And the Qur’an acknowledges that the Bible is the primary Scripture inspired by Allah. And the commandment to believe in the Bible can still be found in the Qur’an today.

We will begin our discussion by pointing out two important facts. Fact Number One: The Qur’an acknowledges the Bible as the inspired Scripture of Allah. Fact Number Two:The Qur’an states unequivocally that the Scriptures of Allah cannot be corrupted by anyone. Neither will it become corrupted at any time in the future. When we consolidate these two facts together we learn an important truth. We learn that since the Bible is the inspired Scripture of Allah, it cannot become corrupted at any time. The Bible has to remain as the authentic Word of God for the Qur’an to be true. We will now provide the evidences. Muslims, if you are truly interested in your eternal salvation, then read this article carefully. We will begin with the following Qur’anic verses:

Surah 5:44: “Lo!We did reveal theTorah, wherein is guidance and a light.” (Pickthall)

Surah 4:163:“We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms.” (Yusuf Ali)

Surah 5:46:“And We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, confirming that which was revealed before him in the Torah, and We bestowed on him theGospel wherein is guidance and a light, confirming that which was revealed before it in the Torah – a guidance and an admonition unto those who ward off evil.” (Pickthall)

All the above Qur’anic verses prove that theTorah, the Psalms and the Gospel are the inspired Scriptures of Allah. Speaking of theTorah and the Gospel, the following Qur’anic verses testify that these Scriptures were given to“the followers of the Bible.” In other words, only in the Bible these revealed Scriptures of Allah can be found:

Surah 5:65-66: If the followers ofthe Bible would but attain to true faith and God-consciousness,…and if they would but truly observe the Torah and the Gospel andall theRevelation that has been bestowed from on high upon them by their Sustainer, they would indeed partake of all the blessings of heaven and earth. (Muhammad Asad)

Surah 5:68: Say: “O followers ofthe Bible! You have no valid ground for your beliefs -unless you truly observe the Torah and the Gospel, andall that has been bestowed from on high upon you by your Sustainer!” (Muhammad Asad)

The above Qur’anic verses emphasize that “the followers of the Bible”can attain salvation only if they “truly observe theTorah and the Gospel,and all that has been bestowed” upon them.Could these inspired Scriptures of Allah become corrupted? Would Allah allow that to happen? Before we look into the Qur’an for the answer, Muslims must not forget the fact that the Qur’an acknowledges the Bible as the inspired Word of Allah. Now listen to what Allah says in the Qur’an:

Surah 10:64: “None can change the Words of Allah. This is indeed the Supreme Triumph.” (Pickthall)

Surah 6:115: The Words of your Lord are perfect in truthfulness and justice. No one can change His Words. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. (A. Bewley)

Surah 18:27:“And recite and teach what has been revealed to thee of the Book of thy Lord; none can change His Words, and none wilt thou find as a refuge other than Him.” (Yusuf Ali)

In total violation to the teachings of their own sacred book, Muslims are taught to believe that some unknown Jews and Christians corrupted the Bible. Muslims must now choose between believing the lie that some Jews or Christians corrupted the“Words of Allah” and believing the truth in the Qur’an which states that the Bible cannot be corrupted. This is not a trivial matter since the salvation of the Muslims depends very much on making the right choice. We will now come to the main focus of our discussion. Can a Muslim reject the Bible and still remain a Muslim? What has Allah to say on this matter? According to the Qur’an, Muslims must unconditionally believe in all the revealed Books of Allah:

Surah 2:285:The Messengerbelieves in what has been sent down to him from His Lord,and so do the believers. Each believes in Allah and His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers, we do not differentiate between any one of His Messengers. They say: ‘We hear and obey. (We ask) Your forgiveness Lord, and to you is the arrival’. (Qaribullah)

Therefore, for Muslims to worship Allah in an acceptable manner, it is compulsory for them to believe in all the Books of Allah. This is a precondition in the Qur’an that every individual Muslim must submit to in order to be a worshipper of Allah. This unwavering commitment is demanded from all those who claim to be Muslims. By stating“Books” (plural) and not“Book” (singular), the Qur’an confirms that Allah does not support the idea that his earlier Books had become obsolete through corruption. The concept of the Bible becoming a corrupted Book did not originate with Allah. It originated with desperate Muslims.

In the above Qur’anic verse, it is mandatory for faithful Muslims to say,“We hear and obey” in response to Allah’s commandment “to believe” in all his inspired Books. And this commandment is still the standing order of Allah in the Qur’an today. So how can Muslims today obey this commandment if they do not accept the Bible as the inspired Book of Allah? To deny the Bible is to deny the Books of Allah. Therefore, the rejection of the Bible by Muslims would without fail result in their denial of one of the fundamental requirements of Islam.

Muslims, who believe in the corruption of the Bible, are placing themselves in a very precarious position regarding their standing with Allah. By believing in the corruption of the Bible, Muslims are actually accusing Allah of commanding them “to believe” in something that he very well knows is no longer the authentic Word of God. Would not that make Allah an unjust and unreasonable deity? Therefore, to genuinely believe in the integrity of Allah, Muslims must believe in the Bible and accept it as the uncorrupted Word of God. In total agreement with Allah’s commandment in the Qur’an, the commitment to believe in all the previous Books of Allah is also stressed in the Hadith.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 300:

Narrated by Abu Huraira: One day while Allah’s Apostle was sitting with the people, a man came to him walking and said, “O Allah’s Apostle. What is Belief?” The Prophet said, “Belief is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Apostles, and the meeting with Him, and to believe in the Resurrection.”

Sahih Bukhari is recognized as the most authentic Hadith in the Muslim world. By their misguided belief that the Bible has become corrupted, Muslims have ensnared themselves. They have made it virtually impossible for them to obey a vital requirement of Allah – the requirement to put faith in the Holy Bible. Muslims have failed to realize the full implication of their action when they reject the Bible as the authentic Word of God. When they reject the Bible, they are in truth rejecting Allah.

Muslims realize that they are caught in a dilemma. How are they going to reconcile the clear commandment of Allah to believe in the Bible with their cherished idea that the Bible has become a corrupted Book? To circumvent their defenseless position, Muslims conjured up the most preposterous argument. They say: “Of course we believe in the Bible, but in the previously existing uncorrupted Bible.” Does their statement make any sense at all? Not only is their reasoning absolutely faulty but it is also in direct violation to the teachings of the Qur’an.

Since Muslims use this excuse frequently, it is necessary to deliberate on this matter a little further. In order to expose the absurdity of their claim, we will use an allegory that compares very closely to the irrationality of their argument. To illustrate:

Let’s sayAbdullah was an honest cop. But in time he became corrupted and turned bad. He turned bad long before the time you were even born. Therefore, during the entire course of your life, you only know him as a corrupted cop. Suppose you were asked to testify about Abdullah. Would it make sense for you to say, “Of course I believe(present tense) in him but in the honest cop he was before.”?

Try saying this in a court of law. We are living in the present moment. Therefore, any estimation of an individual must be contemporaneous with your current opinion of that person. This is especially true if you express your estimation in the present tense. It is either you presently“believe” in the integrity of that person or not. It is the same with your opinion of the Bible. Therefore, your declaration to Allah that you “believe” in the Scriptures of the Bible while in actual fact you do not is not only self-contradictory but also deceitful. You are not only lying to Allah but you are also calling him a liar since he has solemnly confirmed in the Qur’an that “none can change his Words.”

However, what is important for Muslims to realize is the fact that they do not have a say in this matter. Their opinion does not matter in the least. It is Allah who is commanding them today in the Qur’an to believe in all his revealed Books. Can Allah be wrong? Will Allah command Muslims to declare their belief in something that is no longer true? Of course not! Therefore, Muslims must faithfully submit to the will of Allah. As long as Surah 2:285 exists in the Qur’an, it is an irrefutable testimony by Allah that the Bible which we have in our possession today is the authentic Word of God. As long as this Qur’anic verse exists, Muslims everywhere must individually declare their belief in the Bible as the Word of God in order to remain a Muslim.

Let us now examine this issue from the perspective of another commandment that Allah gave to the Muslims:

Surah 3:84: Say, We believe in God and in what has been sent down to us and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes. We believe in what has been given to Moses, Jesus and the prophets fromtheir Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. It is to Him that we have surrendered ourselves. (W. Khan)

All Muslims agree that Allah communicates to them today through the Qur’an. Allah’s commandment for Muslims in Surah 3:84still exists in the Qur’an today. Read the above Qur’anic verse once again carefully. Allah is clearly telling Muslims today that just as it is vital for them to believe in the Qur’an, it is equally vital for them to“believe in what has been given to Moses, Jesus and the prophets from their Lord.”

This places the validity of the Scriptures that were given to the Jews and the Christians on par with the validity of the Qur’an. But more than that, it also proves to the enduring validity of these Scriptures even after the arrival of the Qur’an. In other words, the previously revealed Scriptures are equally and currently of value to the Muslims. For Surah 3:84to be true, the previous Scriptures must not only remain authentic but they must also be available to the Muslims today. So where can Muslims find these Scriptures of Allah today? The Scriptures that were given to the Jews and the Christians make up the contents of the Bible that we have in our possession today. It is only in the Bible that Allah has preserved these Scriptures. And it is only in the Bible that these Scriptures can be found.

Therefore, the Bible is vital for the salvation of the Muslims. It is important for Muslims to note that Allah’s commandment to believe in the Scriptures of the Bible is stated in the present tense. The fact that Allah could command Muslims even now to believe in the Scriptures of the Bible can only mean one thing. It means that the Bible is still valid. It is still trustworthy. And it has not turned bad through corruption. Without a doubt the Bible that we have in our possession today must truly be the authentic Word of God. Otherwise, it would mean that Allah is commanding Muslims to believe in something that has gone bad. Muslims must honestly ask themselves, how can they obey the commandment of Allah to believe in the Bible without personally accepting it as the authentic Word of God?

THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER

All too often we hear Muslim apologists claiming that the requirement to believe in the previous Scriptures does not apply to the Bible of our day. They claim that it applies to the uncorrupted Scriptures which existed before but which no longer exists today. Some others say that the Bible contains some authentic words of Allah, but most of it is corrupted. When Muslim apologists make such baseless accusations against the Bible, they do not attack the Christians but Allah himself. Attacking God’s Word is an attack on God himself. Their claims are faulty for many reasons. We will review a few of these reasons that expose the absolute absurdity of their claims.

FIRSTLY: If what these Muslim apologists say is true, then the Qur’an becomes false. And Allah becomes a liar. It makes no sense at all for Allah to inspire verses in the Qur’an authorizing Muslims to proclaim their belief in the Bible if Muslims today can longer abide by this commandment. How can the Qur’an continue to command present-day Muslims to believe in the Scriptures which no longer exist today? How can the Qur’an continue to command present-day Muslims to believe in the Scriptures which have become corrupted? Are Muslims trying to ridicule Allah by claiming to believe in all his revealed Scriptures while in the same breath they deny his Scriptures?

If the previous Scriptures are truly lost, how can Muslims then honestly say that they believe in something which they do not have any knowledge of? Would not that be hypocritical? Also, if the Scriptures of the Bible have truly become corrupted, does not the insistence of Allah that Muslims believe in these Scriptures prove that he is ignorant of the fact that they are no longer authentic? Imagine, the Scriptures of Allah becoming corrupted without his knowledge. Either this is true or Allah is knowingly commanding Muslims to believe in Scriptures which have become corrupted. Muslims take your pick.

Till today, the entire world of Islam is unable to produce a single copy of the allegedly previously existing authentic Scriptures. Therefore, how can Muslims then submit to Allah’s command to “believe in what has been given to Moses, Jesus and the prophets” when not a single person has these Scriptures in his or her possession? What happened to these Scriptures? At the time when Allah inspired the Qur’anic verses commanding Muslims to believe in the Scriptures of the Bible, the Bible was already distributed throughout the civilized world. And it was already translated into numerous languages. How could these Bibles – every single copy of them – just disappear suddenly without a trace? How could these Bibles that Allah commanded Muslims to put faith in just vanish?

In order for Muslims to believe in Allah and the teachings of the Qur’an, the only choice left for them is to accept the Bible, which is in our possession today, as the original authentic Word of God. Either Muslims acknowledge this fact or they can disregard the sacred commandments of Allah in Surah 2:285 andSurah 3:84. In short, they can choose to leave Islam. Moreover, Allah commands Christians to judge by the Gospel:

Surah 5:47: Let the followers of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein, and those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are the transgressors. (Maududi)

The only Gospel that Christians recognize today as their sacred Scripture is the same Gospel that the Christians who livedbefore and during the time of Muhammad had in their possession. How do we know that? It is because we have ancient copies of the Bible in various museums whichpredate Muhammad that are identical to the Bibles we have today. The only possibility for the Bible to reach us identically as the predated copies is by maintaining its authenticity and remaining unchanged throughout all these intervening years. We can find manuscripts of the Bible written four to five hundred years before the time of Muhammad that are on public display in museums today. When comparing our modern Bibles with these ancient manuscripts, it can easily be substantiate that the Bible we have today is the authentic unchanged Word of God.

Without the Bible it will be impossible for Christians today to live by this commandment of Allah in Surah 5:47. The commandment in the Qur’an authorizing Christians to judge by the Gospel is still the standing order of Allah today. Can the Christians judge by the Gospel if it is no longer available or if it is no longer authentic? Can Allah insist that Christians judge by the Gospel if it has truly become corrupted? Think about this carefully: The instant the Bible becomes corrupted, at the very same instant Surah 5:47becomes obsolete. And it is not Allah who abrogated this Qur’anic verse but some unknown Jews or Christians who corrupted the Bible.

SECONDLY: As pointed out at the onset of this article, the Qur’an guarantees that “None can change the Words of Allah.” Allah personally guaranteed that all his Scriptures will be assigned his divine protection. So how can the former Scriptures become lost or corrupted as Muslims falsely claim? We will now consider another Qur’anic verse which verifies the divine protection of the former Scriptures. For the benefit of our Muslim readers – who are fed lies by their religious leaders – we have provided five different translations of this Qur’anic verse. We want sincere Muslims to understand the extent of Allah’s determination to preserve the integrity of the Bible. Allah told Muhammad:

Surah 5:48:Then We revealed the Book to you (O Muhammad!) with Truth,confirming whatever of the Book was revealed before and protecting and guarding over it. (Maududi)

And to you We have revealed the Book containing the truth,confirming the earlier revelations andpreserving them from change and corruption. (Ahmed Ali)

And unto thee have We revealed the Scripture with the truth,confirming whatever Scripture was before it and a watcher over it.(Pickthall)

And We have revealed to you the Book with the truth, verifying what is before it of the Book and a guardian over it.” (Shakir)

To thee We sent the Scripture in truth,confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety.”(Yusuf Ali)

Although the above Qur’anic verse needs no explanation, we will still consider the meaning of this verse as clarified by the esteemed Muslim scholar, al-Baidhawi.

Tafsir al-Baidhawi:

Al-Baidhawiexplains that“watch over it”means, “The Qur’an is the protector of all the Sacred Books to preserve them from any kind of change.” – Qazi Nasiruddin Abusaeed Abudullah bin Umar al-Baidhawi (1300 A.D.) wrote a well known commentary on the Qur’an, originally called “Anwar-al-tunzeel” but now known as “Tafsir-e-Baidhawi”

Surah 5:48 tells us that the purpose of the Qur’an is not only to confirm the Bible as the authentic Scripture of Allah but also to “guard it in safety.”Not only is Allah personally determined to protect the Scriptures of the Bible, but he also assigned the Qur’an the same sacred duty “to preserve them from any kind of change.” Though it is not detailed exactly how the Qur’an achieves this, but we are nonetheless informed in no uncertain terms that the Qur’an was sent to stand as a “guardian” or“watcher” over the Bible. The Arabic word“Muhaimin” (Watcher)carries the meaning of as“one who safeguards” or“preserves.”

If the Bible was corruptedbefore the time of the Qur’an, why was the Qur’an sent down to protect a Book which has already become corrupted? Would not that be a foolish thing for Allah to do? Why would Allah assign the Qur’an to act as a guardian over corrupted Scriptures? Therefore, the only sensible choice left for Muslims is to accept the fact that the Bible has remained pure and authentic at the time when this Qur’anic verse was revealed. Otherwise,Surah 5:48 would be another obsolete text in the Qur’an.

However, if the corruption of the Bible were to take place afterthe time of the Qur’an’s revelation, then it means that the Qur’an has failed in its sacred duty to act as a protector of Allah’s Scriptures. This not only invalidates the authenticity of the Qur’an but also the credibility of Allah who inspired this Qur’anic verse. One error is one too many for a book claiming to be the Word of God.

So precisely when did the alleged corruption of the Bible take place? Can Muslims please enlighten us on this? They cannot do so without faulting the Qur’an. And they cannot do so without faulting Allah. Therefore, the Muslim argument of the alleged corruption of the Bible having occurred either before or after the Qur’an does not really trouble us in the least. Both are wrong. Any one of the claims – before orafter – makes Allah a liar and the Qur’an false. In their desperation to prove the Bible wrong, Muslim apologists are willing to blasphemously insult Allah and betray their Muslim brothers.

The solution for Muslims out of this dilemma is simple. Instead of insisting on their baseless claim of Bible corruption, Muslims will do well to ponder deeply on the teaching of the above Qur’anic verse. This verse gives Muslims an opportunity to comprehend the determination of Allah regarding the preservation of the Bible. For Allah to commission the Qur’an with the sacred duty to protect the Bible in such a determined way reveals the depth of his fortitude regarding the preservation of his previous Scriptures. Therefore, should any corruption of his former Scriptures really occur, it means that Allah was incapable of achieving his desired objective concerning the preservation of his Scriptures. Thus, if the claim of corruption is true, then the person or persons involved in the alleged corruption of Bible must be more powerful than Allah. Are Muslims willing to accept this?

Since the Qur’an was sent to serve as a “protector”and “guardian” of the Bible, the Muslim claim that the Bible was abrogated with the arrival of the Qur’an is a contradiction to the teachings of the Qur’an. If the Muslim claim is true, then there would be no need for the Qur’an to act as a “guardian” or“watcher” in such a determined way over the Scriptures that are to be done away with at its arrival. Muslims must remember that it is Allah who assigned the Qur’an with the sacred duty to act as a “protector” over his previous Scriptures. Thus, if the Bible is changed in any way, it means that the Qur’an has failed in its duty to protect the Bible. It also means Allah has failed to foresee the failure of the Qur’an. This would make both Allah and the Qur’an untrustworthy. The failure of the Qur’an means the failure of Allah.

THIRDLY: We will now deal with the Muslim claim that the Bible contains only partial truths in it. We will let Allah handle this matter.To those Muslims who say that the Bible contains only partial truths and not all of it is the authentic, Allah gives them the following warning:

Surah 2:85: “Then is it only a part of the Book that ye believe in, and do ye rejects the rest? But what is the reward for those among you who behave like this but disgrace in this life? – And on the Day of Judgment they shall be consigned to the most grievous penalty. For Allah is not unmindful of what ye do.”(Yusuf Ali)

What, do you believe in part of the Book, and disbelieve in part? What shall be the recompense of those of you who do that, but degradation in the present life,and on the Day of Resurrection to be returned unto the most terrible of chastisement? And God is not heedless of the things you do.(Arberry)

Allah asks: “What, do you believe in part of the Book, and disbelieve in part? The above Qur’anic verse was revealed as a warning to those who commit the grave error of accepting only some parts of Allah’s Book while rejecting the rest. It clearly states that the“most terrible of chastisement” is awaiting those who commit such error. So, those Muslims who cherry pick some parts of the Bible while denying the rest is forewarned of a terrible punishment by Allah. Most Muslims do not realize the seriousness of their action in not accepting the complete Bible as the Word of God.“The Book” or “Al-Kitab,”as it is known in Arabic, is literally what the term“Bible” means.

To avoid Allah’s wrath, it is absolutely crucial for Muslims to accept the complete Bible (Al-Kitab) as the Word of God. What authority do Muslims have to decide which verses to choose and which verses to reject from the Bible? Are they now standing in the place of God? Do Muslims have an “authentic Bible” to compare with the one that we have in our possession so as to know which parts of our Bible to accept or reject? Can you recognize a forgery without the existence of a single copy of the original to compare with?

WARNING OF ALLAH

Allah sends out a serious warning against the Muslims who deny the Bible:

Surah 4:136: O ye who believe!Believe in Allahand His Messenger and the scripture which He hath sent to His Messenger and the scripture which He sent to those before him. Any who deny Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Day of Judgment, hath gone far, far astray.” (Yusuf Ali)

Believers!Believe in Allah and His Messenger and in the Book He has revealed to His Messenger,and in the Book He revealed before. Andwhoever disbelieves in Allah, in His angels, in His Books, in His Messengers and in the Last Day,has indeed strayed far away.

The above Qur’anic verse clearly reveals that all true Muslims must believe“in the Book He revealed before” the time of Muhammad. It also says that “whoever disbelieves in His Books has indeed strayed far away.” Notice, it does not say “Book” but “Books.”Since no Books were revealed by Allah after the time of the Qur’an, this verse must then be referring to the Books that were revealed before the Qur’an. Only four“Books” are recognized by name in the Qur’an. They are the Torah, thePsalms, the Gospel and the Qur’an. Three out of the four “Books”mentioned here as the“Books” of Allah can only be found in the Bible. This means that if a Muslim were to believe only in the Qur’an but not in the Bible, he “has indeed strayed far away.” And according to Surah 2:85 a“grievous penalty” awaits those who deny the Bible. If you believe that the Qur’an is the eternal Word of Allah, then as a Muslim you are in no position to deny the Bible.

It would be simply impossible for Allah to warn you that if you“disbelieve in His Books,” you have“strayed far away” if his previous Books are no longer in existence. It would be simply impossible for Allah to warn you that if you“disbelieve in His Books,” you have“strayed far away” if his Books are corrupted? It would be simply impossible for Allah to warn you of a “grievous penalty” if you“disbelieve in His Books”if they are no longer the authentic Words of God.

Since the warning of Allah against those who deny his Books can still be found in the Qur’an today, this means that right now at this very moment there has to be preserved authentic Bible for you to deny. Otherwise, this warning will make no sense for the millions of Muslims who read this warning of Allah in the Qur’an today.

So there is no excuse for you as a Muslim not to submit to the teachings of the Bible. To claim that Allah allowed the corruption of all his other Books with the exception of the Qur’an will make a mockery of the teachings of the Qur’an. How can you accuse the Bible of corruption when the Qur’an speaks of it with such respect and reverence?

Before we conclude, there is an important truth that is extremely essential for us to clarify. This concerns the authorship of the Holy Bible. While the Qur’an claims that Allah revealed the Bible to mankind, we know for a certainty that Allah was neither the author nor the inspiration behind the Holy Bible. However, for the duration of this article we had to concur with this preposterous claim in the Qur’an. It was a necessary approach that had to be taken in order to prove to the Muslims that their own sacred book confirms the integrity of the Holy Bible. Having said this, it is absolutely necessary to acknowledge and clearly identify the true Author of the Holy Bible. Provided below is a profound verse in the Bible that clearly identifies the true Author of the Holy Bible.

Psalms 83:18:“May people know that you, whose name isJehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.”

There are many teachings in the Koran of cruelty, hate, terror and violence.   Since God is All Pure Peace and Love and Goodness all these teachings are not the teachings of God but the evil teachings of ALLAH (the ANTI GOD).  Muslims who believe in these teachings are rejecting God and are embracing  Allah (the ANTI GOD) and committing evil.

No one reading these verses from the Qur’an can conclude that Islam is a “religion of peace.”  Islam means submission, not peace.  Islam is in a permanent state of war with the infidels.  The Islamic “peace” will be accomplished only when all non-Muslims have been killed or pay a submission tax or have being forced to submit to Islam.

Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors.   2:190

Kill disbelievers wherever you find them. If they attack you, then kill them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. (But if they desist in their unbelief, then don't kill them.) 2:191-2

And slay them wherever you find them and drive them out of places whence they drove you out for persecution is worse then slaughter. 2.191

And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship (Holy Mosque) until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. 2:191

But if they desist, then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 2:191-2

And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrong-doers. 2:193

War is ordained by Allah, and all Muslims must be willing to fight, whether they like it or not. 2:216

Warfare is ordained for you, though it is hateful unto you; but it may happen that ye hate a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that ye love a thing which is bad for you. Allah knoweth, ye know not..2:216

Fight in the way of Allah, and know that Allah is Hearer, Knower. 2:244

All non-Muslims will be rejected by Allah after they die. 3:85

Disbelievers will go to Hell. 3:196

The unbelievers are your inveterate enemies.  (4:101)

Seek out your enemies relentlessly.(4:104)

Rape is permitted if the victim happens to be a captive or a slave (4:24, 23:1,70:22)

And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess. It is a decree of Allah for you. Lawful unto you are all beyond those mentioned, so that ye seek them with your wealth in honest wedlock, not debauchery. And those of whom ye seek content (by marrying them), give unto them their portions as a duty. And there is no sin for you in what ye do by mutual agreement after the duty (hath been done). Lo! Allah is ever Knower, Wise.4:24

Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 23:1

Unbelievers will be tormented forever with fire. When their skin is burned off, a fresh skin will be provided. 4:56

Allah will bestow a vast reward on those who fight in religious wars. 4:74

Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward. 4:74

THEY DESIRE THAT YOU SHOULD DISBELIEVE AS THEY HAVE DISBELIEVED, SO THAT YOU MIGHT BE ALL ALIKE; THEREFORE TAKE  NOT FROM AMONG THEM FRIENDS UNTIL THEY FLY THEIR HOMES IN ALLAH'S WAY; BUT IF THEY TURN BACK, THEN SEIZE THEM AND KILL THEM WHEREVER YOU FIND THEM, AND TAKE NOT FROM AMONG THEM A FRIEND OR A HELPER. (4:89)

They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them. 4:89

If the unbelievers do not offer you peace, kill them wherever you find them. Against such you are given clear warrant. 4:91

Ye will find others who desire that they should have security from you, and security from their own folk. So often as they are returned to hostility they are plunged therein. If they keep not aloof from you nor offer you peace nor hold their hands, then take them and kill them wherever ye find them. Against such We have given you clear warrant. 4:91

Murder is only wrong if the victim is a fellow Muslim. 4:92

It is not for a believer to kill a believer unless (it be) by mistake. He who hath killed a believer by mistake must set free a believing slave, and pay the blood- money to the family of the slain, unless they remit it as a charity. If he (the victim) be of a people hostile unto you, and he is a believer, then (the penance is) to set free a believing slave. And if he cometh of a folk between whom and you there is a covenant, then the blood-money must be paid unto his folk and (also) a believing slave must be set free. And whoso hath not the wherewithal must fast two consecutive months. A penance from Allah. Allah is Knower, Wise.  4:92

Those who make war with Allah and his messenger will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. That is how they will be treated in this world, and in the next they will have an awful doom. 5:33

The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom; 5:33

The punishment of those who pit themselves against Allah and His Messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement, except those who repent before you have them in your power (5:33-34) 5:33

Cut off the hands of thieves. It is an exemplary punishment from Allah. 5:38

As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah. Allah is Mighty, Wise. 5:38

Christians will be burned in the Fire. 5:72

Muslims that make friends with disbelievers will face a doom prepared for them by Allah 5:80

Allah will torment those how deny his revelations. 6:49

Let the idolaters kill their children. It is Allah's will. 6:137

During the Battle of Badr, something momentous happened: Allah ordered the angels to fight alongside the Muslims and to strengthen their spirits, and He told [the angels] that he would strike terror into the hearts of the infidels. [The Koran says]: 'Remember thy Lord inspired the angels [with the message]: I am with you. Give firmness to the Believers, I WILL CAST TERROR INTO THE HEARTS OF THOSE WHO DISBELIEVE. THEREFORE STRIKE OFF THEIR HEADS AND STRIKE OFF EVERY FINGERTIP OF THEM. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY ACTED ADVERSELY TO ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER; AND WHOEVER ACTS ADVERSELY TO ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER - THEN SURELY ALLAH IS SEVERE IN REQUITING (EVIL). THIS - TASTE IT, AND (KNOW) THAT FOR THE UNBELIEVERS IS THE PUNISHMENT OF FIRE. O you who believe! When you meet those who disbelieve marching for war, then turn not your backs to them. And whoever shall turn his back to them on that day - unless he turn aside for the sake of fighting or withdraws to a company - then he, indeed, becomes deserving of Allah's wrath, and his abode is hell; and an evil destination shall it be. So you did not slay them, but it was Allah Who slew them and you did not smite when you smote (the enemy) but it was Allah Who smote, and that He might confer upon the believers a good gift from Himself; (8:12-17)

When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying): I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger.  8:12

That is because they opposed Allah and His messenger. Whoso opposeth Allah and His messenger, (for him) lo! Allah is severe in punishment. 8:13

That (is the award), so taste it, and (know) that for disbelievers is the torment of the Fire.  8:14

 O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them. 8:15-16

Who so on that day turneth his back to them, unless manoeuvring for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey's end. 8:15-16

Those that the Muslims killed were not really killed by them. It was Allah who did the killing. 8:17

Ye (Muslims) slew them not, but Allah slew them. And thou (Muhammad) threwest not when thou didst throw, but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair test from Him. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Knower.  8:17            

To insure a lion’s share of booty for himself:  “And know that out of all the booty that ye may acquire (in war), a fifth share is assigned to Allah, and to the Messenger, and to near relatives, orphans, the needy and the wayfarer.”  (8:41)

And know that whatever ye take as spoils of war, lo! a fifth thereof is for Allah, and for the messenger and for the kinsman (who hath need) and orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, if ye believe in Allah and that which We revealed unto Our slave on the Day of Discrimination, the day when the two armies met. And Allah is Able to do all things. 8:41

The worst beasts in Allah's sight are the disbelievers. 8:55

Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power including steeds of war to strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah and your enemies and others besides whom ye may not know but whom Allah does know.  8.60

Make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby ye may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others beside them whom ye know not. Allah knoweth them. Whatsoever ye spend in the way of Allah it will be repaid to you in full, and ye will not be wronged. 8:59-60

It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land. You desire the frail goods of this world, while Allah desires [for you] the hereafter; and Allah is Mighty and Wise [Koran 8:67]'... The word 'prophet' in this verse appears in the indefinite form, which means that [all] the prophets used to kill many of their enemies by the sword rather than take them captive... Allah says this explicitly [in the following verse]: 'So when you meet the infidels in battle, then cut off their heads, and after you have killed many of them by the sword, place [them] in shackles, and afterwards either set them free if you choose or let them ransom [themselves] until the war ends  47:4

It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land. Ye desire the lure of this world and Allah desireth (for you) the Hereafter, and Allah is Mighty, Wise. 8:67

Smite the necks of the disbelievers whenever you fight against them. Those who die fighting for Allah will be rewarded. 47:4

Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens. That (is the ordinance). And if Allah willed He could have punished them (without you) but (thus it is ordained) that He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He rendereth not their actions vain. 47:4

Now enjoy what ye have won [in war], as lawful and good, and keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.; (8:69)

Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods for theirs in return is the garden of Paradise they fight in his cause and slay  and are slain a promise binding on him as truth 9.111. Suicide bombers are not committing suicide, they are seeking Islamic martyrdom (per Qur'an 9:111, which guarantees Paradise to those who "kill and are killed" for Allah), and thus the prohibition of suicide doesn't apply to them.

Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth because the Garden will be theirs: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain. It is a promise which is binding on Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. Who fulfilleth His covenant better than Allah? Rejoice then in your bargain that ye have made, for that is the supreme triumph.; (9:111)

The question is this violence, ruthlessness and firmness - Is it meant to be a permanent law and feature of war, or does it apply only to the early years of Islam? The answer is given in Koran 9:123, where Allah says: 'O ye who believe! Fight the infidels who are near to you, and let them find ruthlessness in you, and know that Allah is with the faithful.' This was one of the last suras to descend, its verses were among the last to descend, and the laws [they set out] are timeless... The perfect Muslim is gentle with his fellow believer and harsh towards his enemy, the infidel.

O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him). 9:123

Fight them! Allah will chastise them at your hands, and He will lay them low and give you victory over them, and He will heal the breasts of folk who are believers.  9:14

Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with their wealth and their lives in Allah’s way are of much greater worth in Allah’s sight. These are they who are triumphant. 9:20 The Arabic for “striven…in Allah’s way” is jahadoo fi sabil Allah, which in Islamic theology refers in particular to jihad as warfare

FIGHT THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN ALLAH, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, NOR FOLLOW THE RELIGION OF TRUTH, OUT OF THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE BOOK [Christians and Jews], until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and THEY ARE IN A STATE OF SUBJECTION. (9:29)

Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, and forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the Religion of Truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low.9.29

When the sacred months have passed away, THEN SLAY THE IDOLATERS WHEREVER YOU FIND THEM, AND TAKE THEM CAPTIVES AND BESIEGE THEM AND LIE IN WAIT FOR THEM IN EVERY AMBUSH, then if they repent and keep up prayer [become believers] and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them (9:5)

Kill those who join other gods with Allah wherever you may find them. (9:5-6) 

Those who oppose Allah and His messenger will burn in the fire of hell. 9:63

Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. 9:73

Non-Muslim who pretend to believe (so they won't be killed by Muslims) are unclean and will go to hell. 9:95

On the last day Allah will kill all the disbelievers (and then he will torture them forever in hell). 10:45

When we decide to destroy a population, We send a definite order to those among them who are given the good things of this life and yet transgress; so that the word is proved true against them: then we destroy them utterly. (17:16-17)

Disbelievers will wear garments of fire, boiling fluid will be poured on their heads, their bellies and skin will be melted, they will be tormented with iron hooks, and when they try to escape they will be driven back with the taunt: Taste the doom of burning. 22:19-22

Scourge adulterers and adulteresses with 100 stripes. Do not show them any pity.  Have a party of believers watch the punishment. 24:2

The fornicatress and the fornicator, flog each of them with a hundred stripes. Let not pity withhold you in their case, in a punishment prescribed by Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a party of the believers witness their punishment. [This punishment is for unmarried persons guilty of the above crime (illegal sex), but if married persons commit it (illegal sex), the punishment is to stone them to death, according to Allah's law].  24:2

And how many populations we destroyed, which exulted in their life (of ease and plenty!  Now those habitations of theirs, after them are deserted—all but a miserable few!  And we are their heirs!  (28:58)  

Allah cast panic into the hearts of the disbelievers. He killed some, and enslaved others. 33:25- 26

And Allah repulsed the disbelievers in their wrath; they gained no good. Allah averted their attack from the believers. Allah is ever Strong, Mighty.   33:25-26

And He brought those of the People of the Scripture who supported them down from their strongholds, and cast panic into their hearts. Some ye slew, and ye made captive some. 33:25-26

Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter. 33:60-61

Allah will make those who disbelieve taste an awful doom. Their immortal home will be the Fire, since they denied Allah's revelations. 41:27-28

Smite the necks of the disbelievers whenever you fight against them. Those who die fighting for Allah will be rewarded. 47:4

Therefore when you meet the unbelievers in fight smite at their necks, at length when ye have thoroughly subdued them bind a bond firmly on them thereafter is the time for either generosity or ransom until the war lays down its burdens…But those who are slain in the way of Allah He will never let their deeds be lost.  47.4

Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens. That (is the ordinance). And if Allah willed He could have punished them (without you) but (thus it is ordained) that He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He rendereth not their actions vain. 47:4

But if you're willing to fight for Allah, he will provide you with lots of booty. 48:19-20

God has promised you rich booty, and has given you this with all promptness. He has stayed your enemies’ hands, so that He may make your victory a sign to true believers and guide you along a straight path.  (48:19-20)  Not only did Muhammad reveal an ayah that assured his followers that taking spoils was good, the success of these raids was taken as a sign that God approved of what they were doing.

And much booty that they will capture. Allah is ever Mighty, Wise. 48:19-20

 Allah promiseth you much booty that ye will capture, and hath given you this in advance, and hath withheld men's hands from you, that it may be a token for the believers, and that He may guide you on a right path.  48:19-20

Those with Muhammad are ruthless toward disbelievers and merciful toward themselves. 48:29

Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves. 48:29

The Prophet said, "The person who participates in (Holy battles) in Allah's cause and nothing compels him to do so except belief in Allah and His Apostles, will be recompensed by Allah either with a reward, or booty (if he survives) or will be admitted to Paradise (if he is killed in the battle as a martyr). Had I not found it difficult for my followers, then I would not remain behind any sariya going for Jihad and I would have loved to be martyred in Allah's cause and then made alive, and then martyred and then made alive, and then again martyred in His cause." - Bukhari 001.002.035

 It is not lawful to make war upon any people who have never before been called to the faith, without previously requiring them to embrace it, because the Prophet so instructed his commanders, directing them to call the infidels to the faith, and also because the people will hence perceive that they are attacked for the sake of religion, and not for the sake of taking their property, or making slaves of their children, and on this consideration it is possible that they may be induced to agree to the call, in order to save themselves from the troubles of war... If the infidels, upon receiving the call, neither consent to it nor agree to pay capitation tax, it is then incumbent on the Muslims to call upon God for assistance, and to make war upon them, because God is the assistant of those who serve Him, and the destroyer of His enemies, the infidels, and it is necessary to implore His aid upon every occasion; the Prophet, moreover, commands Muslims so to do.

 In the Muslim community, the holy war is a religious duty, because of the universalism of the Muslim mission and the obligation to convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force.  The other religious groups did not have a universal mission, and the holy war was not a religious duty for them, save only for purposes of defense... Islam is under obligation to gain power over other nations.

 Muslims have to realize that half a Muslim is worse than a kafir. Only a true Muslim can be a terrorist and can terrorize the world. The litmus test is the five times prayers in a mosque where they can be seen and counted.  Muhammad thought of an ingenious way to correct this situation.  When Muhammad noticed some Muslims missing congregational prayers in mosque regularly, he wanted to set an example for others; he had the vermin’s burnt alive along with their houses and the families. 

 “The Prophet said, “burn all those who had not left their houses for the prayer, burning them alive inside their homes.” Bukhari: 1.11.626  

 In another verse Allah said about apostates “they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and feet be cut off from the opposite sides, or exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world; and a great torment is theirs in the hereafter." (Surah al Maidah:Verse 33).  

The Prophet said, ‘If a Muslim discards his religion, kill him. Bukhari: 4.52.260

MUHAMMAD: THE UNIQUELY SUPERSTITIOUS PROPHET

 *MUHAMMAD: THE UNIQUELY SUPERSTITIOUS PROPHET*

*# THE MYTH:* Muhammad did away with primitive superstition and belief in Magic.

"Our Prophet (peace be upon him) enlightened the world and replaced Arab mythology and superstition with scientific inquiry and truth." 

# THE TRUTH

Although Muslims like to believe that Islam is a mature Abrahamic religion that has no place for archaic superstition, the truth is that Muhammad believed in black magic and curses.  This is documented in the Quran and Hadith.

The Quran contains several references to magic and witchcraft.  According to Surah 2:102, magic was taught to men by demons.  Moses himself was able to practice magic (Surah 7:116).  Muhammad was told to “seek refuge” from witchcraft in Surah 113, a passage that is supposed to be recited six times a day by devout Muslims.

In the Hadith, Muhammad establishes the “evil eye” as a fact:

Ibn 'Abbas reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The influence of an evil eye is a fact; if anything would precede the destiny it would be the influence of an evil eye, and when you are asked to take bath (as a cure) from the influence of an evil eye, you should take bath. (Muslim 5427)

The enemies of Muhammad were even able to cast spells over him (or so he claimed):

"A'isha reported that a Jew from among the Jews of Banu Zuraiq who was called Labid b. al-A'sam cast spell upon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) with the result that he (under the influence of the spell) felt that he had been doing something whereas in fact he had not been doing that.  (This state of affairs lasted) until one day or during one night Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) made supplication (to dispel its effects." (Muslim 5428). (Bukhari 54:490repeats the same story and adds that Muhammad was “bewitched”).

Bukhari 71:660 also goes into further detail, saying that Muhammad was made to think that he had sexual relations with his wives when he had not (due to the magic). The passage also lists the materials used to cast the spell, which included a lock of his own hair – reminiscent of voodoo practices.

# SATAN LAUGHS AT YAWNING

"Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Yawning is from Satan and if anyone of you yawns, he should check his yawning as much as possible, for if anyone of you (during the act of yawning) should say: 'Ha', Satan will laugh at him." - (Sahih Bukhari 4:54:509)

# ALLAH LIKES SNEEZING BUT HATES YAWNING

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Allah likes sneezing and dislikes yawning, so if someone sneezes and then praises Allah, then it is obligatory on every Muslim who heard him, to say: May Allah be merciful to you (Yar-hamuka-l-lah). But as regards yawning, it is from satan, so one must try one's best to stop it, if one says 'Ha' when yawning, satan will laugh at him." - (Sahih Bukhari 8:73:242)

What superstitions do you have Muslims? Is it right for a religious person to be superstitious? Whatever your superstitions, you can't beat Muhammad. Consider this:

"Narrated Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) I bought a cushion having on it pictures (of animals). When Allah's Apostle saw it, he stood at the door and did not enter. I noticed the sign of disapproval on his face and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I repent to Allah and His Apostle. What sin have I committed?' Allah's Apostle said. "What is this cushion?" I said, "I have bought it for you so that you may sit on it and recline on it." Allah's Apostle said, "The makers of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them, 'Give life to what you have created (i.e., these pictures).' " The Prophet added, "The Angels of (Mercy) do not enter a house in which there are pictures (of animals)." (Sahih Bukhari 7.110)

# "HOUSE" SNAKES ARE NOT TO BE KILLED OUTRIGHT - THEY MIGHT BE MUSLIM!

From Muslim's collection of Hadith Book 026, Number 5558:

"Asma' b. 'Ubaid reported about a person who was called as-Sa'ib having said: We visited Abu Sa'id Khudri. When we had been sitting (with him) we heard a stir under his bed. When we looked we found a big snake. ... Allah's Messenger is reported to have said: Verily in these houses there live aged (snakes), so when you see one of them, make life hard for it for three days, and if it goes away (well and good), otherwise kill it for (in that case) it would be a nonbeliever. And he (the Holy Prophet) said (to his Companions): Go and bury your companion (who had died by the snake bite)."

Sahih Muslim, Book 026, Number 5559:

"Abu Sa'id Khudri reported Allah's Messenger having said: There is a group of Jinns in Medina who accepted Islam, so he who would see anything from these occupants should warn him three times; and if he appears after that, he should kill him for he is a Satan."

Sunan of Abu Dawud, Book 41, Number 5236:

"Narrated Abu Sa'id al-Khudri: Muhammad ibn Abu Yahya said that his father told that he and his companion went to Abu Sa'id al-Khudri to pay a sick visit to him. He said: Then we came out from him and met a companion of ours who wanted to go to him. We went ahead and sat in the mosque. He then came back and told us that he heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri say: The Apostle of Allah  said: Some snakes are jinn; so when anyone sees one of them in his house, he should give it a warning three times. If it return (after that), he should kill it, for it is a devil."

Reading the Hadith one is struck over and over again at Muhammad’s extreme superstition. Fear and superstition permeated his theology. Some of it so bizarre as to be laughable. Now, for some strange reason Muhammad believed that Jinn had received Islam and morphed into snakes.  You can’t blame these Muslim snakes for wanting to live in homes can you?  But, Muhammad didn’t want these Muslim snakes to live in human Muslim homes, so he ordered his followers to warn and trouble the snakes in order to drive them out.

Aren’t people who carry on like this put into psychiatric care?

You don’t need to be a herpetologist to know that Muhammad had some serious problems.

Here are some issues to be considered:

1) Not all outdoor snakes are harmful.  Many of them are in fact quite beneficial to humanity. They kill destructive pests like rodents. What’s the point in killing beneficial snakes?

2) Second, what does that say with respect to Islam and the destruction of a beneficial species of animal?

3) Third, isn’t it quite bizarre for people to be talking with snakes?  Muhammad was a superstitious man, we've previously seen in the Quran he has ants talking about Solomon. But here, the stakes are higher – i.e. they are Muslim snakes.  I’d hate to see a Muslim try talking with a poisonous snake. Definitely not a good idea.  It might make for a good comedy, or “world’s most dangerous stunts” type show, but certainly not a good idea for a real life situation.

4) Snakes have poor hearing. If Muhammad had really been led by God wouldn’t he have used a more reliable form of communication with them?  After all, the motive was to communicate effectively with the snakes and warn them or drive them away.

5) Should we assume that snakes, at least the snakes in question, understood Arabic?  Especially the Arabic dialect of the home in which he chose to live?

6) Normally snakes don’t “live” in homes. If Jinn have morphed into snakes, would they would live as snakes? Snakes avoid contact with humans.

7) Do Muslims really think that by speaking to a snake and referencing Solomon and Noah, that that would prohibit the snake from biting you or anyone else?  Are there Muslims willing to give it a try?  I’m sure there are many cobras in India that are available and up for it.

# OTHER MUHAMMAD SUPERSTITIONS

Muhammad believed:

● A child resembles whichever parent climaxed first (Bukhari 55:546)

● Spoons should be covered before going to bed (Bukhari 69:527)

● Oversleeping is caused by Satan urinating in one’s ear (Bukhari 54:492)

● The bathroom should be entered with the left foot first. (Fiqh - Islamic law)

● Keeping a dog as a pet will cost the owner a celestial reward (Bukhari 67:389)

● A man should spit only to his left (Muslim7149)

● The penis should be held with the left hand only when urinating (Muslim 512)

● A person should wipe their butt with an odd number of stones after defecating (Bukhari4:163)

● Satan sleeps in ones nose, so water should be snorted each day (Bukhari 54:516)

● No one should lie on their back with one foot crossing the other.

● Bad dreams can be warded off by spitting over the left side of the bed (Bukhari 87:115)

● The right shoe should be put on before the left (Muslim 514)

● No one should enter the house through the back door (Surah 2:189)

● Muhammad also told Muslims which way to face when they defecate (back towards Mecca, per Sahih Muslim 507) and which direction they should be buried (facing toward Mecca). 

● Halal slaughtered animals are required to be facing Mecca when they are killed. 

● Muhammad also told Muslims where to turn when they retreat (back to Mecca) and in which direction they are to be buried (in the direction of Mecca) (Sahih Muslim 507)

Perhaps the greatest abundance (which has caused countless monetary costs and loss of life for Muslims) is that the faithful must travel to Mecca and orbit a meteorite seven times. This practice was directly lent out by the Arab heathen, who found even Muhammad's followers strange (Muslim 2915).

The list goes on.

One is bound to wonder are all Muslims today as superstitious as their prophet? The answer of course is a resounding yes. All ritual is superstition. The entirety of Islamic doctrine and practice is founded upon it.

# WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TEACH?

It will come as no surprise to know that on this subject as with everything else Muhammad's life was completely at odds with God's word.

Superstition is based on the ignorant faith of an object having magical powers. Another word to describe superstition is “idolatry.” The Bible does not support the idea of things occurring by chance, but nothing is done outside of God’s sovereign control. Either He causes or allows everything in keeping with His divine plan (Acts 4:28; Ephesians 1:10). 

There are many types of superstitions in the world, ranging from the benign—such as not walking under a ladder, not treading on the pavement cracks, throwing coins for good luck into a wishing well—to the occult practices of astrology, black magic, divination, voodoo and sorcery. 

Scripture condemns those who practice astrology (Deuteronomy 4:19), magic, divination and sorcery (2 Kings 21:6, Isaiah 2:6). Idolatry is also forbidden, and no one who practices it will enter the Kingdom of God (Revelation 21:27). These types of practices are extremely dangerous because they open the minds of the practitioners to the influence of the devil. First Peter 5:8 warns us to “be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 

We should get our faith not from objects or rituals of man-made origin, but from the one true God who gives eternal life. “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority” (Colossians 2:8-10).

To be superstitious is idolatry and it is trusting in things other than God. It is a slap in the face to Him showing that you don’t trust Him or believe in His Words.

If God is for us who or what can ever be against us? God is in control of all situations never ever put your faith in silly myths, astrology, or other demonic things like witchcraft, but put your faith in Christ alone. If you want evidence of God in the world just look at the transformed lives of people such as Nabeel Qureshi here below, not for empty meaningless signs like the name Allah "written" in the clouds above.

Muslims when will you give up your useless 7th Century superstitious idolatry and put your trust in Jesus the living God who is the Lord of your life?

Then they had turned away from him (Messenger Muhammad) and said: "One (Muhammad) taught (by a human being), a madman!" S. 44:14 Hilali-Khan; cf. Q. 34:46; 37:36; 68:2, 51

To summarize the testimony of the Quran, Muhammad’s contemporaries viewed him as

·                     A liar.

·                     A forger and plagiarizer.

·                     A sorcerer and a magician.

·                     A soothsayer and poet.

·                     A madman, perhaps as a result of being possessed by jinn, i.e. demon-possessed.

Now since Muslims believe that the Quran is a contemporary account that was composed during Muhammad’s lifetime they must contend with the fact that the so-called earliest Islamic source which they possess does not support the claim that the pagans of Mecca viewed Muhammad as a trustworthy person. If anything, the statements of the Muslim scripture imply the very opposite, that Muhammad’s contemporaries considered him to be a liar and deceiver, one who was prone to make stories up, passing off tales of the ancients as revelations from God. This explains why they didn’t believe him when he said that God was speaking to him. They saw this as just another one of his far-fetched stories, more of his fantasies and allusions, and viewed this as one of his attempts of trying to make himself someone important with the hopes that his people would take him seriously this time and submit to his wishes and desires.

Moreover, it will not help the Muslim dawagandist to simply dismiss the statements of the disbelievers on the grounds that they are nothing more than false assertions and allegations since this only exposes the blatant inconsistency of Muslim polemicists. Keep in mind that it is the Muslim propagandist who is appealing to the assertions of the disbelievers to prove that Muhammad was a trustworthy person. S/he cannot therefore simply discredit the claims of the unbelievers when they are unflattering to the character of Muhammad. After all, if their testimony is reliable enough to support of Muhammad’s integrity then by the same token the unbelievers’ claims are also good enough to call his character into question. The Muslims cannot have their cake and eat it too.
