The Quran Is Not the Word of Allah or God Almighty

The Quran Is Not the Word of Allah or God Almighty

By Dr. Maxwell Shimba | Shimba Theological Institute

Dear reader,

This is a serious matter for every Muslim around the world. Muslims have long insisted that the entire Quran is the word of Allah. But when you ask them, how exactly did Allah speak to Muhammad? — they go silent or resort to insults.

Today, I want to present clear evidence showing that the Quran is not the word of Allah. Join me as we carefully examine this together.

Proof Within the Quran Itself: Who Is Really Speaking?

Let’s look at what the Quran actually says — and you’ll realize it’s not solely Allah speaking.

1. Satan Speaks in the Quran
In Surah Al-Hijr 15:39, Satan himself says:

“My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make disobedience attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all.”

So here, Satan is speaking within the Quran. How then can one claim the Quran is entirely Allah’s words, when even the devil has a voice in it?

2. Zakariya (Zechariah) Speaks in the Quran
In Surah Maryam 19:4, Zakariya says:

“My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy.”

Again — it’s not Allah speaking here, but Zakariya.

3. Mary (Maryam) Speaks in the Quran
In Surah Maryam 19:18, Mary says:

“Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allah.”

If Muslims claim the Quran is purely Allah’s word — then how is Mary speaking here? Has Mary become Allah? Of course not. This is a serious theological contradiction.

4. Angels Speak in the Quran
In Surah Maryam 19:21, the angels say:

“So it will be; your Lord says, ‘It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.’”

Now angels too are speaking in the Quran. Again — if it’s Allah’s word alone, why do we hear from angels directly?

5. Jesus (Isa ibn Maryam) Speaks in the Quran
In Surah Maryam 19:36, Jesus says:

“Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”

So even Jesus speaks in the Quran — but what’s striking is that Muhammad himself never speaks directly in the Quran, nor is his birth mentioned clearly in it. Isn’t this a serious inconsistency for Muslims to explain?

The Big Questions Muslims Must Answer

So I leave my Muslim friends with two simple questions:

  1. Who exactly is the speaker in the Quran?

  2. Whose words are really recorded in the Quran?

If you can answer these questions, with clear verses and without dodging, I am ready today to become a Muslim.

But the truth is evident: the Quran is a collection of speeches from different characters — Satan, prophets, Mary, angels, Jesus — making it impossible for Muslims to honestly claim it’s entirely the word of Allah.

Final Reflection

Muslims often challenge: “If you don’t believe the Quran is from God, then produce a verse like it.”
But when many voices other than Allah appear in the Quran — does this not weaken the claim that it’s purely divine revelation?

I leave this contradiction for Muslims to wrestle with, and I invite you instead to follow Jesus Christ, the Living Word of God, the Word of Life.

Come to the One who speaks eternal truth. His name is Jesus.
