BREAKING NEWS: Shooting at Ft. Lauderdale airport, 5 dead so far…


Allegedly, a shooting suspect is in custody. 

Washington Post  Police said five people were killed in a shooting Friday afternoon at the Fort Lauderdale international airport that also sent eight others to the hospital. The suspected shooter is in custody, according to a spokeswoman for the Broward County Sheriff’s Department, which was on scene at the airport.

Multiple news outlets are reporting five people have died, and the Broward Sheriffs office tweeted eight people are injured and have been transported to a hospital. Sen. Bill Nelson told ABC News the suspected shooter has been identified as Esteban Santiago, who had a military ID on him. Unclear if it belongs to him.

Second shooting at Fort Lauderdale airport confirmed by TSA

People are being told to take shelter after a second shooting reported at Ft. Lauderdale – this one at Terminal 1. The first was at Terminal 2.  Passengers are being evacuated from the first incident at Terminal 2 in an orderly fashion, after five people were killed and 13 injured. The situation is still fluid.
